Question re: hop-up wheel for gbb
Hi!
So I just bought and received a new KJW 1911 from Sasksoft Armouries (shameless plug) it looks great and I can't wait to put some rounds through it. One of the first things I did was strip it down to lubricate it and check everything is in good order, and I was fiddling around with the hop-up wheel. So my question is, how far should it be able to spin? The adjustment arrow on the wheel doesn't seem to want to go any farther to the 'increase hop' than the 6 o'clock position (ie with the arrow at the bottom of the wheel). it looks to me like it could at least go over to the 4 or 3 o'clock position, but it's not budging. Is this normal or should it be able to move farther to the right? I don't want to put a ton of force on the wheel b/c I don't want to break anything. |

If I remember correctly there wasn't much movement in my 1911 hop up, I left it pretty much where the factory had it. Just look down the barrel while turning the wheel. You will be able to see the amount of adjustability off and on. I found my Les Baer shot laser straight with .28's and just over half hop on.

Thanks.
I ended up taking the hopup unit apart and regreasing it... it was plugged with that Chinese garbage they use. Seems to move a bit freer now with a bit more range. But yeah, it seems pretty dented when I look down the barrel, so I'll leave it as-is for the time being. |
