is 300fps Normal?

my TM AK47S shoots about 280-310 FPS

i was wondering if that is too small, and what is the average velocity that your guns shoot?

generally is it ok to go to an airsoft game with a gun that shoots 280-310 fps?

TM guns shoot around 280 stock.

IIRC G&something and some other brand (ISC?) shoot stock in mid 300's.

You'll need to read up on the pieces you'll need for an upgrade, then find a gunsmith to install them for you.

Usually newbs are encouraged to play a bit first and get the feel of the distances and ranges before upgradeing. I used a stock gun for almost a year before upgrading and I killed more of you pansys than with my upgrades. Disclaimer: for those of you that I have not killed yet....I will....**insert evil laugh**

Time to read the Upgrades and Modifications section if you want to, well, Upgrade...

Or far simpler; leave it alone and relax.

If it's not broken, dont change anything.

meh, once you play upgraded, you'll never go back.
your average player can install upgrades....there are enough guides online you can even do it yourself....Some here will claim you need a PHD to open a mechbox, but dont worry, its not that hard, and if it is, take it to a field, and you'll find someone to do it for you.

All you really need is a bigger spring $15 and bushings $10-15. its gonna eventually burn out your gears, but they are gonna go anyways. But your gonna get much more range...added ownage. And dont get scared by people here who push the idea that only urber-experienced players should use upgraded guns....its a small plastic BB, and a few more fps isnt gonna kill you.

goto a game with your gun stock, and shoot it, then shoot someones upgraded gun.

But a new player can easily get startled, turn around and light someone up from a couple feet on full out with a 400FPS gun. I'd hate to be on the recieving end of that.

Droc I think that when I was green I was much more likely to hold my trigger longer or possibly shoot at a too close range just due to lack of experience. Upgradeing is great but it's NOT neccessary, I did quite well with a stock gun against upgraded guns almost every game. I do think it is a safety issue that could save someone a lot of pain and/or blood.

If you are going to play this sport for years why not ease into it instead of going rambo, it's safer, your guns last longer and you won't piss anyone off with a hard shot.
