best battery for g&g HK416

hello, i was wondering what is the best possible battery to upgrade to for my gun, currently the stock battery lasts about 2-2.5 magazines and is dead.

the battery is - VB Power 9.6V 1600 MAH NiMH.

i would like to stick with NiMH over the LiPos....but if Lip is truely better then i would consider switching. (NiMH needs less care)

There's something horribly wrong with your battery or charger, if it only lasts 2 magazines worth of BB's. Or you have a horribly strong spring.

Before switching batteries you have to determine the root of the problem.

Which is it?

Agreed every battery ive ever gotten with a gun craps out after a half day or less (like 2-300 rounds tops for the most part) a 9.6 1600 on a 400fps spring lasts me for 2 games with a week of sitting in between (tho i always charge em befor each game i have forgoten once or twice and had no issues)
Buy a battery and stop using the charger that came with the gun and yer gravy.

The stock G&G batteries aren't very good at holding a charge.

When I had my MP5A3, I bought a Intellect 9.6v 1600mah Mini Nunchuck Battery and it worked amazingly. Maybe buy 2 if you're afraid it will die on you. Remember to buy a smart charger too so you don't damage the battery.

Lipos do not require any more care than NIMHs. A quality charger will take care of everything to do with a lipo battery for you. If your ROF drops off drastically, stop firing and swap batteries, beyond that it's the same as NIMH.

Charge it up the night before the game using the Balance Charge feature, then use the Lipo Storage feature on the charger after the game to keep your lipos fresh and ready for the next game. It's literally 4 button presses.

In any case, you should be tendering your NIMHs anyway, just like Lipos.

The Nano-Tech 11.1V 1200mah 15C Stick Battery should work well for you.
The B6AC charger is also superb (although I currently use a pair of old HobbyKing ECO 6-10s)

How old is this battery?
What charger are you using?
Are you using very high capacity mags? Or better
How many rounds before failure?

! On mobile; sorry for any spelling mistakes or autocorrects!

yes it is the MAX series, and High Cap magazine, the battery and charger came stock with the gun.

i bought the gun 2 months ago roughly not sure when it was manufactured.

i am getting around 600-800 shots and then its dead. the first time i ever used the gun & battery it was dead in 1 magazine, after playing a bunch over the 2 months (nearly every day) it seemed to cycle up to 2-2.5 mags and then is dead, same story for my friend who bought the ''Light'' edition of the gun.

m100 spring
VB Power 9.6V 1600 MAH NiMH ''Nun chuck'' battery
stock charger (came with gun & battery)

The "dumb" charger is probably what's at fault.

So you got the spring changed to the lower M100, it doesn't have the crazy 450+fps spring in it?

it came with a replacement m100, so i assume it has a m100 already in it?

The max series comes with like a m140 installed (my m4 cqbs shot 495fps before change) the batteries that g&g ships their aeg's with are crumby, but I do have 3 of them I have acquired over a few years. All still work ok for a few hundred rounds. The charger is actually not that bad. It's a smart dumb charger. Good for 7.2-9.6v batteries. I still use mine actually.
