Problem with M4 hop up :(
Hey guys.. So I got a SRC M4 and upon shooting it, noticed that the bbs just sort of dribble out, not going far at all. After adjusting the hop up, they go a little further, but then just dip to the ground.
I took the gun apart, and examined the hop up unit. The bucking looked dry, so I applied some silicone oil, still have the same problem though. Should I replace the nub? The red madbull bucking just causes the bbs to get jammed (too hard). Is there something wrong with the hop up unit or is it something else I am overlooking? Thanks! |

You should never oil your hopup rubber.

sounds like there is no bucking in the hopup unit. that or the hopup units gears are broken, also, oil + hopup rubbers = doesn't work.

Oh we do hate you, just never felt like wasting the time to give you a user title :P

Yeah i vote no nub or broken gear not moving the arm.
Warm soapy water remove the oil. The red madbull should work i used it in near 0degree weather without jams. Coild be the hop up unit is out of spec or something.

you need more info to narrow down the possibilities, It would be really helpfull if you could chrono your gun using .20 gram bb's. If your bb's are dipping to the ground and your shooting 350+ fps thats probably a hop up issue. if however your bb's are dipping to the ground and your shooting 100 fps ...well thats a whole different animal

Gotcha. I don't have a chrono /:
I see. I just saw a video on youtube of a guy using a tiny bit to help the inner barrel slide into the hop up unit. Took the the hop up out, and when I adjust it, I do see the nub protruding... But upon firing, same problem |
