Vfc/Dboys Scar-H rear sling mounting
So I got a Dboys Scar-H (VFC clone), and frankly I love everything about it, up until you reach where the stock attaches to the rifle. The sling attachment points at the front of the gun are metal, and fit the MS2 sling fine, but the rear loops are made of plastic :I
I'd try using the hole at the end of the stock, but I am honestly worried about running and accidentally snapping the whole stock off. Considering the top rail of the scar is literally part of the upper receiver, it looks like that would be the sturdiest place to mount a qd swivel. I want to get one that points rearward, instead of upwards. The only one I can seem to find is this And that looks kind of dumb. Rails shouldn't point that direction. Any suggestions? Anyone also have this problem? |

Just loop the sling around the butt.

I have a great distrust of QD sling swivels. I had one let go and drop my gun, it probably isn't any more sturdy than the stock. Get a hard attachment mount that gives free range of motion, much better. And your sling has a quick dump anyways.

Why don't you just use a keyring

Because he wants to put the sling to the rear.

Plus apparently its made of plastic and that could break. I would suggest you use a magpul RSA or a daniel defence style one. Mounts on any rail plus I'd add it with a magpul ms3 sling sturdier loops plus they lock making it falling off near impossible.

Maybe the OP can chime in but as I understood his message he didn't want to use the 2 metal sling loops ahead of the hinge for the stock. Instead he wanted the sling looped at the rear like in my photo.
I could be wrong but that's the only plastic loop I've seen on that particular AEG.

I'm pretty much looking for the sturdiest place to mount a sling to the rear of the gun. My idea was to mount a swivel on the upper rail seeing as the whole upper receiver is milled out of one piece of metal. The rear sling loops on this rifle are plastic and seem like one hard drop away from just breaking off, they still had some of the moulding crap on them that I needed to file off. Danke, you have a Dboys as well? Strange that they would change the materials. And yeah, I was considering the loop at the back by the stock, I was worried that it would bend/stress the stock hinges. If you haven't had a problem with it then I suppose I'll try that, or a paracord like Najohn says. Thanks for the responses guys, btw.

Mine was a VFC but they're all the same. The aeg version is light enough and the stock is sturdy enough that slinging off the rear isn't an issue.
The only way to break it is to bash it on something.

Another alternative may be to replace the plastic rear sling loop plate with a metal one. IIRC the one on the WE GBBR SCAR is made out of metal, part #27. RA Tech also makes a reinforced version of it as well.
I have no idea about fitment though as I don't have any experience with the AEG SCAR. |
