NiCad / Nimh Chargers

Simple question really that's been bugging me for awhile now. Taking two chargers, one for a NiCad and one for a Nimh, what's the difference between the two of them? Ever since I began playing airsoft, I've just been using a cheapo charger, outputing 200 ma at 9 volts dc, to charge my NiCad battery. Takes about 15 hours, hahaha, but I'm okay with that. What would differ between this one I have and say a Nimh charger of relatively the same output? I'm just looking into the possibilities....

Cheers guys, Brent

That's a trickle charger. That can be used with both NiCad and NiMH, although it's not a good idea to use it for NiMH... complex reasons involving inability to determine a full charge, and dangers of overcharge...

The only real difference between NiCad and NiMH chargers is with peak chargers, and it's the ability of the charger to detect more subtle delta peaks from NiMH packs. a NiCad charger charging a NiMH pack will probably miss its peak, and continue dumping current into it even though it's full.
