G36c CYMA or JG?
I am looking to pick up a <$200 G36c.
2 options on the table are the JG and the CYMA (CM003) I have read that the CYMA has a better external build quality? any recommendations? Are there any other models in or around the $200 mark that would compare to either of these? (Echo 1, Ares, etc) |

Echo1 is a rebrand of JG they import em to the us from china do a quick check and sell them at a mark up.
Cyma and jg are about equal on build quality ive had a jg m4 an echo1 m4 and a cyma mp5k. If the cyma is metal and the jg is plastic id go cyma just cause itll be more durable if they both are metal or plastic id go jg. The cu Cyma mp5k pdw is around 200 and so are most cyma guns most jg/echo1 are also gonna be 2-300 for the most part And all thise brand cyma echo1 jg are considered low-mid grade aegs hence the lower price but they are all useable and prety decent for the price Most of my guns are jg/echo1 and i have a cyma mp5kpdw and for a short ass barrel it shoots damn good

well for the most part i like to take solid built cheaper guns and upgrade them. I would not have the heart to take a $600 gun and rip it apart the first week i get it.
I've got several CYMA guns (AK's, M14) and after my upgrading they are the best guns at the field I play on right now. These two specific guns are both plastic (all G36's are plastic i believe.. like the real steel) but i was wondering who had the best stock gearbox. I like stock guns with decent metal bushings and maybe a metal bearing spring guide or something.. so that i can save money on those upgrades. The JG apparently has 6 mm bearings stock.. while i think the CYMA has 8MM metal bushings and a stock metal bearing spring guide. The CYMA is also $20 cheaper than the JG right now.. i'm just addicted to gun teching right now.. i need a new stock gun to turn into a work of art! I'm going to lean slightly towards the JG. The newer refreshes of their G36 have been improving quite a bit internally. I think Echo1 has been driving them to improve their build quality.

do you happen to know if the following version sold at Toronto airsoft is a newer version?
I have still seen a pile of videos online that say the CYMA is just a more solid built gun stock.. Last edited by Bar1975; February 26th, 2013 at 22:27.. |

From what I have heard and see, and from my first hand experience with the JG one, I can say it is not a bade choice at all. I can't decide for you since I don't know the CYMA one, but the JG one, especially the newer version as MaciekA said, is a good pick.
EDIT: That particular retailer is running a mystery box, with the lowest prize being a JG G36c. It's something you might consider. (Also, remove the link, they are not allowed in this section as per the rules ) EDIT 2: This version is NOT the newest one. Unless I'm mistaken, of course. |

I don't think that's the newest one. The cheapest one is still old stock that has the 6mm nylon bushings. I actually had one of these and think very highly of it, but I wouldn't recommend anyone start with it now... The updated JG G36s have much better internals.

so how do you know what the 'new' version is? The part number for that model is "JG608".. what is the part number for the newest?

Good question. I'm too lazy to find out for you at the moment
If you want to be safe you can always go for the Echo1 MTC stuff which is guaranteed to be a bit more upmarket.

I dont know where you guys get your guns.. but i only know of a couple of stores in Ontario that sell them and i don't see an Echo 1 G36 for sale in either of them.
I wont be ordering anything online.. if i cant touch it and feel it first .. i don't buy it. |

Isn't the new one labeled V4 or Gen4? The JG608 is the one I own, and it's not the new one.
