KSC Usp Compact
Hi, I recently just started getting involved with airsoft and i am thinking of buying the KSC usp compact, I have read a few reviews but i thought this would be the best place to find out if the gun is a good choice.

if you plan on playing games, the answer is NO. start off with an AEG. get the USP after as a sidearm.

I don't think I would bring the gun in games, im just checking out airsoft for now and just want to get the usp to play around with. So do you know if this is a good sidearm to go with?

it is made well from what i gather. you should be fine with it. btw, there is more to airsoft than shooting cans in your garage.

Its a very nice pistol. Its definately built for an operator with small hands though. Mine has a metal slide and barrel on it though. The kick is quite high. In terms of accuracy its quite good.
I give it an A for sure.

Thanks, I think I will buy it, and after im finished firing it at cans in my garage, im going to save up for an AEG. BTW Ive heard the Fps is really bad for the compact is this true? If so how can I upgrade it.

metal slide and use propane.
also, by you post it appears you do want to get involved in the sport. please be prepared to spend roughly 500-700 for a new AEG and a couple of bills for gear. as a rule of thumb it will cost around 1000 to get decent stuff. if you do not have cash lying around, save a bit, get the AEG and come see a local game. or, better yet, go to a game first, try out some guns (most people are nice about lending their guns to try out) and then make your decision. i just started in this sport this past year and i went to about 4 games before actually deciding that airsoft was for me and which guns to purchase. there is a lot of information on these boards, take advantage of it! |

KSC makes a great product. They are durable and very reliable if you keep them clean and well maintained.

Just so you know: If you want accessories like laser or flashlights, USP compact is not a good chose.
But other then that, its a great pistol. I have one with metal slide and I love it

If you want to play in games, just get a total of three mags or more. I did it very successfully with a KJ M9. The only thing stoping you from being just as good if not better in a game with just a pistol, is your fitness. If you can run around for a few hours no problem, then you will be fine. Plus the manuverability (I think thats how its spelled) is far greater with just a pistol and the huge cut down in weight makes it easier to run. I was able to peg about 4-5 people in most outdoor games I played like that. (not the whole day, every skirmish)
Make up your mind on what abilities you have. EDIT: Those games were at FR, and I see that's where your first will be. |

Well....... the KSC USP Compact is one of my faves, but (sorry to break the positive feedback on this gun) I find that if you keep it stock it does lack power and accuracy. I bought it 'cuase it's a USP Compact and it looks amazing! It's also built well and will last you a long time if you take care of it. You can always upgrade some of the internals and get a metal slide so you can use propane (DO NOT USE PROPANE WITHOUT UPGRADING!!!!!). That will fix the "power issue", but accuracy will still lack...... groupings are bad enough that you don't wanna do any type of IPSC stuff with it. I bought the pistol regardless, so that should tell you something right there.
