VFC SR16 CQB magazine well issues.

Hello,
I've recently gotten a VFC SR16 CQB (SR16 CQB Carbine (BLK)
VF1-LSR15CM-BK81) and have been trying to get kitted up to use it.
My issue at this time is that it doesn't seem to accept any magazines without shimming them. The only magazine that works is a metal-high cap that came with the gun, it wobbles a little but feeds and stays secure.

I've tried PMags, both Beta Project (75-80rnd) and Magpul PTS (120rnd) variations, as well as King Arms M4/M16 mags (as suggested by the store), all of them wobble, and I even had a Magpul PTS PMag fall out of the gun while test-firing.

Could the Magwell be worn down, should I get a new spring for it, or am I just not using the right magazines?

Make sure your magazine release is tight!

Looking at this model, how can I do this? There doesn't appear to be a socket to tighten on the button.

Your magazine release looks properly tightened.

Buy some of this and pop some in the front/top area of the mag well.

Use a square of the pointy side, firms up PTS 120rds nicely and as an added bonus makes sure your hop-up units seal to the mechbox is tight; as loose mags in that gun can cause it to pop out a bit from time to time, which can cause compression issues.

I have this gun as well and i have velco on my mags works very well.. If you use the same type of mag for all your mags you can put the vecro in the mag well instead of the mags.
the fuzzy side is the side you want to use.

as for the mag catch you have to push the button in as far as you can and then spin the arm on the opposite side to tighten or loosen

Is this your first AEG of AR-15 type?

Having wobble does'nt make that problem because I have a little wobble in all of mine and they work everytime.

Do your other magazines that dont fit all slip out also if you pull a little on them?

Sometimes they put ''below par'' pieces even when NIB. Make sure that your mag release goes far enough into the slot of the magazine where it get's hooked. It's the notch in the top of the mag. Compare the original with the other magazines to see the relative difference, could give you a hint on what to look for.

I've seen mag releases that get stuck halfway because of bad tolerences during their manufacture too so the magazine does'nt get hooked properly, this happens more often on amidextrous mag releases. Make sure it comes back properly everytime and goes far enough so that the mag notch will get hooked properly.

Do you understand what exactly is happening inside when you have that problem?

The well of the hop-up chamber is not going far enough into the magazine to push back the holding tab of the bb's inside the magazine well so the bb's do not fully get pushed all the way up to the nossle so in other words, your magazine is not getting hooked high enough in the magwell for the hop-up well to push down the tab holding back the bb's.

Your problem really feels like it's coming from your mag release.

Try to see if there is a way for you to tighten it more so that it clamps further in the notch of the magazine.
