Opinions on Hot Power Lipo batteries
Hi, just wondering what you think about Hot Power Lipos, are they decent, and if you don't think they're any good, what brand of airsoft Lipos would you recommend? Thanks.

I have 2 HP 11.1v lipo for my RS 97/97b and now for my mk 46, I got no complain about them, serving me for more than 2 and half years got no issue by far.

Damn, that's good news, cuz I have one on the way for my ics sig 552 custom and just wasn't sure because they don't seem too popular. I know about the famous hobby king and I think they sell quality batteries for very good prices. Ive bought lipos for rc planes for incredible prices and will definitely consider buying from them. Thanks.

I had two purchased 2-3 years ago,. They didn't last a month, the first was smoking inside my buffer tube, the second went very puffy in a P90 after 2 mags. Not worth spending my money on.
Avoid airsoft branded batteries +1 Hobby king |

I have 2 hot powers. One 7.4 and another 11.1. Just got the 11.1 but have had the 7.4 for 4 years zero problem. Azathoth, what voltage did you store yours at? I have been using lipo for 5years and have never had one fail or puff up on me

I only use Intellect, King Arms and Turnigy lipos. With great success. Never had an issue.
I am partial to this little guy in particular: http://www.airsoftparts.ca/store2/in...oducts_id=2339

Charged the batteries to 4.2xx each cell on the 11.1 and 7.4 and put them into the respective guns. Ran the batteries, at the end of the day i check the voltage on the batteries and ensure they are above 3.3v. I had a lipo cutoff on a alpha version of the Trigger master v3.9, it cuts off at approximately 3.3v each cell. At the end of the day if the batteries voltage range was 3.3v - 3.8v / cell I put them away and will charge them before the next game. The one 7.4 battery didn't live beyond it's first charge cycle and use on a stock TM gearbox (v6). The 11.1 lasted perhaps a month or about 5-6 charge cycles in my M4. Once you move away from those awful buffer lipo to a nice brick style you never go back. 12-15c providing a continuous amperage of ~25-30 is really anemic. I've had several LIPOs go puffy after RC use on helicopters / planes but that took several 6-8 months of using the battery hard. |
