I recently got a UMP and it has a pretty good size to it, almost as big as my M4 CQB. I hope to get a mp5k one of these days, also throw one of those mp5k rail system on it an a red dot and that would be one sweet little gun. So probably a mp5k. Both are cool SMG's.

UMP, hands down. They're comfy, made by some high quality companies, and look positively badass.

I have both, love em both! UMP is more adaptable and has a good range, MP5K is quick, handles well & is light.
If you are planning to prone the UMP isnt the choice to make since the magazines are so long, and, on the other hand you have no stock with the Mp5K. Other wise I would choose the UMP over the MP5K.

I really wouldn't get either of them....but if I had to pick between the two it'd be the MP5K and I'd only use it for CQB or as a backup in lieu of a pistol (and even then I wouldn't want to do that).
The UMP is about as big as a G36C/M4CQBR...and is a pretty blocky/bulky thing. The mags are chunky and long...needing dedicated pouches to hold them well. For something that size I'd defer to a platform that was easier on stowing mags. The MP5K is not a pistol...and a very small sub gun. It's very compact but is best used with two hands. Without a stock it's very "wavey" but doing the push/pull sort of thing with a sling helps a lot. And you're left dealing with the long/narrow MP5 mags. Lots of rigs/pouches for those mags though. Other options if you must have and H&K gun (and they're cool without a doubt) are the MP7 and the MP5 PDW. The gas MP7 is a beast and super fun. Mags are expensive, gas suffers cool down in the cold (i.e. sub 10C) and you'll need MP7 mag pouches...several options available though. I wouldn't bother with the electric MP7...it's really anemic. The MP5 PDW AEG is pretty decent if you're good with MP5 mags. Really compact when folded, stock is attached so you've always got a solid shooting platform, otherwise same pros and cons of the MP5K. |

Scar-L CQB or a PDW. Fold the stock and away you go

Used both, I'd pick the UMP. Honestly though I'd use whichever is made the best. I owned a Star UMP and it was excellent, however Systema makes the MP5 (TW5 variant), and you won't find a better CQB airsoft gun anywhere. If cost is a factor, get the UMP.
