G&P Canadian C7

Hello All,

I've just received in the mail today my G&P C7 from TorontoAirsoft.

I'm looking forward to using it, however, I have some concerns.

The bolt that covers the hop-up (not the dust cover) is not quite working.

Typically (on my M4) I would pull back the mechanism that releases the cover exposing the hop-up. And I would press the release on the left side of the gun to close it.

In the case of my new m16, the button does nothing (it is completely loose and wobbling) and the bolt itself has (what I've surmised to be) dried oil on it. As well, the bolt is scratched.

I've heard terrible things about G&P internals. I'm wondering what I need to do to first - fix this problem, and second - maintain my rifle.

Please advise.
Regards.

Not all guns use the bolt release. My g&p doesn't not use it as well. Just means you need to hold it back.

As for scratches. That stuff happens when parts are rubbing on other parts. Totally normal.

Everyone is going to tell you that you shouldn't fix anything until it breaks or doesn't work at all. If your doing thîs for the first time I recommend you find a gun doc and let him take a look at your issue.

Regards

G&Ps don't have working bolt catches. Their freaking dust covers can't even close! Go buy a King Arms or a VFC or a high end G&G if you want that function. If you're good with your hands, open the mechbox and swap out the gears or at least shim them properly. Do some research next time and you'll never be disappointed.

Airsoft M4's are not like the real thing. Bolt hold open (really just a plate for looks) is relatively new and is only on a few brands of guns.
