Canada Post's new tracking page.

Just wondering if Canadapost's new tracking page is suppose to be 100% accurate in respect to their delivery locations. What I mean is the locations on the top left and right side of the delivery tracker bar.

I bought something off of an ASC user. He chose to ship in 2 packages. First package has this tracking number:
0654 8840 0054 9395

As you guys can see, it says it came out of BURNABY and ended up in MISSISSAUGA as indicated by the words on top of the tracking bar. Thats perfect and I got the package already.

However, the second package that he is sending is showing something different.
The tracking number is:
0074 2330 0058 9496

So, it came out of BURNABY again, but its destined for PICKERING??
This is the same person sending me the 2 packages, so I doubt he got my address wrong.

Is this cause for concern or is Canadapost's tracking not really accurate?

Road shut down? Sorting hub overloaded? More freight for the other location on this particular truck?

Probably Canada Post just being Canada Post. As long as your seller wasn't a complete numpty and screw up your address I wouldn't worry too much.

Why would someone ship in two packages? BC to Toronto isn't cheap. Wouldn't it be more economical to bundle the two instead of two separate packages. Oh well.

Thats good to know. Wouldn't want the package to go to some random person's house, knowing that CP will just give any package to anyone.

Col.TIKER, this has happened to me before. I bought a gun from Kingston and instead of heading straight down here (like you'd assume it would) it ended up back-tracking and going to Montreal instead... and THEN to my house.

Nothing to really worry about, its just a re-route to a possibly less congested sorting house.

I didn't know that was a possibility. Ok then, I'll wait and see what happens.

You guys think that's bad, I got a package going from Calgary that made a detour in Vancouver then to Montreal, then to Mississauga, then to Edmonton then back to Calgary to be sent to Lethbridge. I honestly don't know what the hell happened there.... If it was Express/Priority I could have gotten my shipping money back but for Economy it was like $7-10 to ship so yeah....

I swear though that at least one of the locations got fucked up because it got scanned from one place to another in an hour or like half an hour. I don't think it ever made the trip out to Montreal but probably hit Mississauga then back to Edmonton and headed south.

I also got one package from the US that went from Phoenix to Vancouver without any in betweens. Just no updates for like a week (not even "CBSA inspection") and bam right to my front door. I guess some scanner fucked up.

It could be their computers being stupid. I once had a package go from Toronto to Montreal back to Toronto within an hour and then back to Montreal in a half hour.
