my very first airsoft game.

hello airsoft canada! my name is billy ( or as my friends call me "gear" or gearek or gear-dick or gear-ting or what ever combination of the word gear + what ever funny/sick/nasty ending you can come up with) and i would like to share my first experience of airsoft.

Now i have done some bbgun shooting in a friends back yard for some time and that got very old very fast. so i thought why not do some research and see if this is something i would like. video after video of awesome snipers/cqc headcams/ and zombies!!! i decided i would jump head first into the sport!

after a long drive to toronto airsoft from hamilton. i know its not that long but when your going to get an airsoft gun, down the street can seem long. the guys at toronto airsoft were very helpful and friendly and had no problem letting me hold/get the feel for any gun i wanted. the only thing i didn't like was he told me about this website and how you need to get age verified and i asked if i could sign up then and there but he told me it would take to long and i should do it at home and come back.... now i just spent almost 700$ cash there on the spot and he couldn't give me 2 minutes to set up a account on this site. (i dont think it even took 2 minutes). kind of an upset.

Billy at home in hamilton with a airsoft gun and nowhere to use it...... not good. not good at all. so looking for a place to play. then blam! i found a place in toronto called ultimateairsoft that was open on my day off. and as far as i know they are open 6 days a week. (down keele then turn on ashwaren). there, there you will find the building were i had some of the most fun in my life. i walked into this place not knowing what i would find.

"hey brother welcome to ultimateairsoft, how you doing" the owner of the arena said shaking my hand. after a few minutes of friendly talking i knew this was a perfect place to pop my destructive cherry (let the record show i did bleed that day but it hurt good...yea'know?" very good size arena with different areas make this a very fast pace game. there is a great open area in the back and some very tight spots in the front. playing a bunch of different games and very VERY little down time these guys running the place really know how to host a great game.

Now my gun was firing to hot (about 430-450 with.20g bbs) they had no problem giving me a hand. 1 spring 15$ (5$ less then toronto airsoft) and 25$ for the service ( half the price toronto airsoft offered to do it for) and in about an hour i had my gun back in my hands... the best part is tho well i was waiting for my gun to be fixed they gave a me a gun to use in the mean time..... i mean really? now thats 100% true customer service (trust me i run an auto shop at the desk so i know customer service) that said i would say that goes beyond customer service. i feel like they wanted me to be part of the game with everyone else so i didnt have to sit and watch and for that i was very thankful.

5-10:45 i played. didn't stop for more then 5 minutes (besides to unfog my goggles) and got a ton of games in from free for all to "get the Colombian drug lord out of jail..yes they have a jail). i plan on going back a few times a month from now on. the field, the games, and most of all the AMAZING customer service made my first airsoft experience one i will never forget.

Why didn't you just go outside, say you're going to grab a quick smoke but what you were actually gonna do was scratch your ass a few times, you know... get that itch that has been bugging you for the pass 30 minutes with the urge to scratch only being suppress by all the amazing eye candy on the shelves...then pull out your uber smrt phonular device and make an account. Head back in, tell him your login name, shake his hands (like the Ass Penny guy), and both yous happy now.

Anyways, most fields has someone who can AV you anyways. Hamilton area has a lot of fields so won't take you very long plus being AVed only lets you into the classified and Age of Majority section so you're not really missing that much.

Anyways, I wanna try that place out too, if I see you there....YOUR ASS IS GRASS! or perhaps... YOUR GEAR-ASS IS GRASS! Glad you had fun though

Yay for good service from UA (eh... not so much for TA though but I think they expanded too fast and didn't keep the formula that made them successful in the first place). If UA can keep the formula of being friendly and "for the player" (with business profits taking a sideline) I definitely see that place being a popular venue and as a result of the "for the player" attitude making money anyways.

Good on them for the spring/spring change AND giving you a loaner to use so you're not sitting there.

bennyboy, love'n the "gear-ass" thats what im all about. now i did bring my gun out to my backyard to sight it and give me a feel for it... but its not the same as playing in a game with it. and yeah i agree, i think UA can do nothing but grow with the way they run the place + everyone had a blast. ( everyone but the one kid who took off his goggles twice and had to sit out... guess he dont like his eyes very much huh?) more gear-names plx?

I absolutely love UA thats the place I play at the most actually, The guns that run the place are great and I always have a blast there. Everyone I have ever met there is very friendly, never really seen any fights or arguments. I support UA one hundred and twenty five percent just because I love the arena and so far all the players Ive met there.

Hey nice to see more airsoft players in Hamilton. There's a game at Soldier of fortune and a game at warsoft nation this Sunday close by. I'll be goin to warsoft nation, provided they have enough players and
Don't cancel the game. Maybe I'll see you there!

I'm glad your first experience was a good one, but don't judge Toronto Airsoft too harshly. ASC and Toronto Airsoft are two separate entities; and although they may work together and have an AV on hand; they are a business first. Secondly, (not bashing the people who helped) but be careful of who you let work on your gun; there's more going on than just putting it back together with a new spring.

Airsoft is a broad world, with hundreds of different styles, and thousands of different guns. Get AV'ed ASAP to really take advantage of what this very large community has to offer. Make sure to research a lot before doing any purchasing. The best advice you'll get is from experienced "players" of the sport.

Welcome

Please read the rules section and avoid publishing the names of any retailers in a non-AV'ed forum.

As far as i am concerned, TA has issues - I was an in-person, first-time customer, and they screwed me over large without so much as the courtesy of a reach-around. I will judge them accordingly, by their lack of good business ethics, in my instance.

You cannot please all the customers, all the time, but you can try to work with them to accommodate issues as a part of your business ethics. They didn't even make an attempt, in my case. Once burned, twice shy. Mine is not the only instance by far with TA, that i have heard post-sales support has been non-existent.

There are much better retailers out there, and TA no longer has a lock on the market, as far as reasonable cost goes.

oh im not bashing TA i really liked the store and they had good prices. i will go back for sure. and its not a huge deal about the AV. its just i work at a auto shop and even tho i dont do body work/paint jobs on cars. lets says a customer came in because they got in a car crash and needed a new bumper. i would put a new bumper on for them but if they needed it painted after i would take a 2 minutes to call a body shop i know and get a quote for them. doing the little things like that for people in my opinion is what turns someone from a customer to a customer for life. i will still shop there...but i may also go to other places at the same time.

I recently started playing Airsoft and I love it. My very first experience was at UA and it was the best ever. The arena is clean and perfect for playing. The props are cool and you feel like you're in Call of Duty actually playing. The players are great and so are the staff, they're helpful and friendly and courteous. The scenarios for the games are wicked fun, especially their zombie games. I've been back a few times and it keeps getting better and better

I've been following airsoft for 5 years now, and turned 18 on Sept. 1. Once I turned 18 I knew what had to be done in life, airsoft just had to be picked up. So that's it, I did my research and found UA. EVERYTHING YOU SAID ABOUT UA IS TRUE! They're amazing at customer service, they're also players just like us. Very friendly, and they helped me out during the entire day. My gun was also shooting hot, so they gave me a G&G M4 rental (which was a solid AEG might I mention !). I just love airsoft, and a big part of that is because my first day of airsofting was an AMAZING exprience. I have to thank UA for that, really .. thank you so much. Also, the players there were SUPER friendly, and I made a lot of new friends. They all gave me tips/hints. ECO team was also there. One of the good friends I made there was phloudernow from ASC. Anyone who hasn't been at UA yet, GO!
