Baofeng UV5R
Anyone knows how to use this damn radio? Got this 4 days ago, i have no clue besides setting it to communicate with teammates. Other than that no clue as to it's an Ameture radio "Ham handheld" could set to EMS,FIRE,POLICE, TTC, STAR TREK. etc
But i don't know how and attempt to try all i got was static? Anyone know how to use tips or fequencies i could set for some listening entertaiment?

Have you programmed the frequencies?
Check out the Chirp software, the dev builds support this model and it has the FRS/GMRS frequencies built in. http://trac.chirp.danplanet.com/chirp_daily/LATEST/ |

Thanks , will check it out. It's quite a hassle to program when your cd and usb fails to work. But i appreciate the info. Cool breeze .

Amateur Radio
Be careful - that transceiver is using federally-licensed frequencies. If you are not a licensed amateur radio operator, and you are caught on amateur or first responder frequencies, you could be facing serious jail time and fines.
It's not a standard "walkie talkie" designed for general public use.
