killflash alternatives?
I just picked a reasonably nice optic... the lens is unprotected, I'm wondering if a reglar 30mm killflash either slip on or screw in will stop a BB.
In addition to that, are there any products that have a lexan or polycarb lens that slip on or screw into optics? |

You can have a screw-on killflash that will stop a BB without a problem. I would say most of them out there are BB-Proof, slip-on or screw-in.

cool, what about it dimming the visuals? I was reading that they really darken or obstruct the view in some cases.

Honey-comb effect is the only thing I have heard of.

I have Killflashes on several optics: on an unmagnified scope (Aimpoint etc) it will dim your view slightly and the honeycomb is visible; on a magnified scope (ACOG) the honeycomb is not visible but view is darkened.
I'd estimate the amount of light loss is ~1/3 stop in photographic equivalent.
