FNC top rail?
Hey AC! I recently bought a G&G FNC/GF76 (oddball gun for an oddball) and am looking for a rail to mount a reflex sight. G&G's looks ugly as sin, but ARES/Star's looks trick enough. Does anyone one know if it'll mount? I know that interchanging parts between guns and manufacturers in airsoft can be hit and miss...

Hi, I also replied in a thread:
http://www.airsoftcanada.com/showthread.php?t=139981 I also tried ARES/Star's QD mount as well. It is too long and its end part is too big. Might need to use a steel file to re-shape the end of the mount to fit with GG FNC's sight. IMAG1665.jpg This is the way I did for stormwerks mount. Find a small piece of metal which can fit into the gap. The metal needs to be strong to be stuck into the gap between the mount and sight. IMAG1714.jpg IMAG1716.jpg |

Gonna bump this up again for public knowledge- Can confirm that the ares rail works if you go at it with a file, and stays pretty sturdy. The stormwerkz one looks to be a little more sane of a procedure though. Less potentially destructive guesswork involved
Your other option would be to order an ak5c upper and top rail straight from g&g. The rail attaches direct to the receiver and keeps a lower profile, and should fit onto your fnc body just fine. |

For ARES mount, I didn't try it. Too much work. I saw a Japanese tried on Asahi FNC: http://blogs.yahoo.co.jp/fumi_bnr32/61434783.html
Front and rear ends need to be re-shaped. the QD roller as well, otherwise it would interfere the dust cover moving up. I am wondering if GG might measure the dimensions from Asahi one. For GG AK5C, I didn't have one. Hope someone will make a GBB of it . But the mount looks using different way from FNC: http://cyma.militaryblog.jp/e480268.html It looks the rear end uses the same way to insert into the rear sight. But it has two screw bases on the top of the receiver. For Stormwerkz mount, the small piece of metal is from Marui SG552's handguard: IMAG2197.jpg It is the screw support inside the plastic handguard. It is pretty strong fitted. Now my GG FNC is like: IMAG2181.jpgIMAG2182.jpgIMAG2192_1.jpgIMAG2186.jpgIMAG2191_1.jpg |
