Best Iphone GPS App?

I have a few that require network access.
But for places without access it would be nice to be able to either Queue up maps ahead of time. or even have a larger download which includes areas?

Anyone seen a decent Ap for this?

+1 for Navigon

I've tried most of the big names (if not all) + a few like Waze (which requires Data connection but is awesome if enough people in your area use it)

In the "traditional" GPS apps I've used, Navigon was best of all by far

I have plenty of apps for navigation on road. I'm looking more along the lines of off road, for games, at Claybank etc.
I'd rather stay away from jail break.

My father in-law uses MotionX...I haven't personally. He uses it for hikes/trips/outings and is quite happy with it.

Did you try Google Maps (I'm sure its an app for the iPhone). On my Samsung Android phone, Google Maps will allow me to pre-cache maps so that I can still use it for navigation when I don't have network access.

Not accurately or reliably enough sadly. One wrong zoom. Or something you can loose them

Telenav Scout - Telenav.com.

Read reviews on it anywhere and you'll be blown away.

That also looks like a car app.

Thank you for the help, and correct me if I am wrong. But it seems a lot of people these days just read a title and comment.

I'm looking for off the grid land nav. Not auto nav.

I didn't find it that buggy - although I only used for one trip. I just want to make sure we are talking about the same thing. Google maps will always save the recent maps so that you can view them again without having to download them again. But, this isn't what I'm talking about.

In the current version of Google Maps, I can enable a pre-cache map feature. To enable it, I click on settings -> Labs -> Enable Pre-cache map area. Then on the map, I do a long press on the location of interest, until an address box appears. Tap the address box and one of the options should be "pre-cache map area". Select that and Google Maps will download an area of 10 miles by 10 miles centred about the point you selected. You can pre-cache 10 areas this way.

Thanks
