Non cavalvy 5pin head sets?
It seems that my cavalvy bowman is toast (the mic still works but nothing from the speaker). So I'm left with the 5pin u94 PTT and no headset.
Are there any other manufacturer that does the 5 pin set up? I have minimal electrical experience but I'm willing to take a shot on the head set. I'm pretty sure it's the headset because I have taken apart the ptt no wires frayed. Good current through all the wires. Or any suggestions on a possible repair? Thanks!

Yeah I was looking for non-cavalvy 5 pin connector. I don't feel like spending another 50 bucks on something that lasts a season when I can get a ptt and bowman for $36 elsewhere

Maybe you got a Cavalvy replica. A replica of a replica... Cavalvy are reputed to be durable.
Anyway, if you got a place to buy the real deal, then do it.

I bought the cavalvy Ptt, cavalvy bowman, better antenna, USB cable and a puxing 888 from techselller less than a year ago. I might have received a bit of a lemon but I'm not wanting shell out $45 + shipping for a headset that has failed on me after 4 uses.
Back on track any 5-pin connectors that are not cavalvy??

For a temp conversion I just cut off the wire from the old damaged Element headset. Then put the bare wires from the Military Standard plug into the headset plug of the Cavalvy and taped it in place. You could also just cut off the cavalvy plug and wire up the old Element plug. I still want the option to use a Cavalvy PTT so that is why I didn't cut off the 5-pin.
The pic is what I have for Element standard plug wiring going into the Cavalvy plug. You can see the small alignment cut out on the plug. To the right of it goes the White Mic wire. To the left of it is the bare ground wire for the headphone. The rest as seen in the pic. I could be backwards for the headphone wires since they work either way I couldn't be 100%. |
