Ballistic face masks
Hey guys,
Recently my team members and I bought some ballistic face masks. The problem is the mask has MESH eyepieces. It is rated for 500 fps.... but most if not ALL fields here in Toronto say NO MESH. Its a full face mask.... Is there something we can do? Does anyone know how or where we can possibly swap out the mesh eyepieces for plastic? |

even if you 'swapped' them out for plastic, they wouldnt conform to ANSI standards. Only solution is wear low profile shooting glasses underneath. Evan that might not be allowed on all fields though.

Hmm, what if I were to take the eye pieces of my ess goggles and slide em into place directly behind the mesh inside the mask?

Low profile glasses under is the way to go.. for as long as you will use this ..
almost everyone I know who buys one of these things uses it 2 times before realizing that they can't get a cheek weld, and can't see to the side or the ground when wearing these things.. Looks cool.. but useless.

Does anyone know of a place where I can buy a ballistics face mask that has SEALED eye's? Not mesh. Im not looking for a fancy paint job as I will be doing that myself, target goal is to get the mask and shipping all for under 100 bucks.

what you need is a mesh lower mask + goggles: perfect cheek weld, no fogging.
I don't know of any sealed-eyes full face...most have either mesh or nothing... also you can check masks here http://shop.ehobbyasia.com/catalogse...q=mask&x=0&y=0

I bought one of those army of 2 masks only because it was in Huangs bargin bin, If you wear ballistics glasses underneath your fine...
I bought mine at a walmart for under ten bucks. If you plan on playing like this though, better buy some fogtech. Personally, the novelty whore off as soon as I realized I was going to have to look through mesh for entire games and that my peripheral vision is somewhat limited by the eye holes.

Shit, what was i talking about? Oh yea....eye protection. How do you feel about paintball masks? Sealed eye protection and full face protection. If so, i would recommend the Dye i4. Expensive (might run you a over $100), but imo, its worth it. Small profile, and high quality lenses. Its got a nice thick clear lens and has never fogged on me. Never tried them, but i also hear good things about the Empire E-vents. |
