WE Scar Bolt Issue

Hey Everyone,

So I have been able to play about 4 or 5 games with my WE Scar. My first problem was the bolt catch not engaging after the last round was fired. I fixed this by adding some JB weld to the bolt catch allowing the piece on the magazine to push it up enough to lock.

My next issue was the roller bearing and pin fell out, fortunately it happened inside and I was able to recover it. I fixed this by adding a super thin amount of JB weld on either side of the pin to hold it in place.

Now I am noticing my bolt carrier (I believe) coming loose. It happens after firing only a couple magazines. The two allen screws that are on the top of the bolt carrier are extremely loose. Does anyone know what could be causing this? Could it have anything to do with the JB weld I added to the bolt catch? Initially when I did this, I tested it and the fire rate was really slow, it must have been hitting the bolt or causing an issue, after sanding it down though the fire rate returned to normal and there were no other signs of a problem.

I should also mention that I was chopping BBs anytime I tried to fire on full auto as well. Now, this was probably due to the weather as it was only 1 or 2 degrees that day but I figured I would mention it as well.

Any help would be greatly appreciated!

Well, due to the lack of replies I assume no one has experienced this... literally it is coming loose after 1 or 2 mags. I think I am just going to blue loctite both of these screws as I don't really need to remove the bolt carrier...and if I do I should still be able to get them out with enough force.

Hard to find people with SCARs these days, but I still REALLY want to swiss cheese one of those bolt carriers and see if it increases performance at all

You had the RA-TECH one. Nothing to do with the GunsModify.

The Loctite is holding... I just hope I can get them off when/if I need to. Today I noticed the O-ring on the nozzle was swelling up causing the plastic nozzle to stick in places.

Has anyone had this happen? how would this effect the performance? I have not had any missfeeds or broken BBs but I am noticing that on full auto, after about the 2nd BB they just bounce off the cardboard.

I am beginning to think I should have went with an AEG

GBBRs are for scrims and playing around, they're not serious workhorse guns

Switch to open bolt system. Work WAY better. Well worth the 100$ + 5$/mag to convert.
