Padded Belt rigs - run another belt for pants?
I just got my HSGI Sure-Grip belt, and set it up last night. When I put it on, with my Eagle Rigger's belt underneath, and the HSGI done up snug, it tends to "fold" my rigger's belt at the buckle, does anybody else have this problem? Or do I just have little girl hips?
Do you guys run a separate belt for pants only then put the Padded belt over top? Or do you guys actually buy pants that are the right size and simply wear the padded belt?? Also, how high/low should the padded belt rig sit? I found if I set it up too high where it doesn't interfere with my pants belt it tends to ride up upon drawing items out of the belt (mags/pistol). |

You should run a belt underneath. There are special "under" belts, designed to be low profile, and have velcro on the outside to connect to other outer belts (such as Eagle Duty belts...)
I have run a riggers belt under a padded belt before, and experienced a bunching at the front where the duty belt (in the padded belt) rode on top of the riggers triangle. It was never comfy, and I ultimately ditched the padded belt rig. |
