Magpul PTS stocks, milspec, commercial
Quick question:
Are Magpul PTS (CTR/MOE/ACS) stocks milspec or commercial? Also, if I'm not mistaken, commercial stocks will fit on milspec buffers but will wobble, while milspec stocks won't fit at all on commercial buffers? Can anyone confirm/deny? Thanks! PS: Please no "AFAIK", I've spend a while Google'ing and only found "AFAIK" answers that contradicted eachother...

Pretty sure you got it.
As Commercial Buffers are larger than Mil-Spec. As for the PTS stocks I've got one for my WE and it is slightly wobbly. But no more than any other stock.

Yep you're correct.... Stock WE buffer tubes are mil-spec size, just an FYI

They sure are!
Also I had no problem putting my MOE stock on my C7A2 at work once for a Ex.

I'll add one more confirmation that PTS (and the majority of other airsoft stocks) are mil-spec sized (with varying tolerances depending on the quality).
If it's any consolation, I have a non-PTS CTR stock and it has a slight wobble as well (fixed by applying a short piece of electrical tape to the top rear section of the buffer tube, lengthwise [muzzle-to-stock axis]). That being said, I found the WE buffer tube to be ~0.10-0.12mm slimmer than a RS VLTOR one I have.

I concur, I have a $25 CTR stock from Huang on my WE.
It was a bit loose and had some wobble but i fixed that with a 1 1/2" piece of velcro inside the stock. Its perfect now. |
