FLAME Lithium Iron Phosphate (LiFePO4) battery
Has anyone ever used this type of battery (LiFePO4)?
What your opinion on it? Need it for my PEQ15 battery box. 9.9V? http://airsoft-club.com/shop/batteri...for-peq-15-box Read up on it and from what I got is this. Pros and Cons. and comparison with Lipo's http://forums.airsoftmechanics.com/i...p?topic=4411.0 Let me know. Thanks! |

Easier on your internals than a similarly specced lipo. LiFePO4 is typically 15C for most batteries which will make your trigger contacts not burn out as easily as an 11.1 (or even some 7.4's).
It's supposedly approximately equivalent to a 9.6 or 10.8V NiMH battery. Also they can take slightly more abuse than a Lipo since it's more "stable" of a chemistry. Pretty much an in between between a 7.4 and an 11.1 and more or less a 9.6 in a smaller footprint (I have a G&P PEQ2 that was just a massive beast.... after mounting a PEQ15 and switching, I don't think I can go back to a PEQ2 unless it can deliver at least 5000 mAh or more of runtime). Cons are less power density for the weight and pretty much whatever else was in the airsoft mechanics post. I personally just picked up a VFC PEQ15 with the hopes of sticking a PEQ brick LiFe battery in there (which I will buy next week when I get my paycheque). If you want the battery shipped out fast then buy from Airsoft gear. A bit more expensive but all duties, import taxes and such have been paid already and they ship out same or next business day after receiving payment so if you need it in 5-7 business days or whatever shipping method you choose it's perfect, plus shipping prices are usually pretty reasonable. http://airsoftgear.ca/index.php?main...roducts_id=691

I've got a couple LIFE batteries. A stick for an AK and a Tri-Panel for the SCAR and 249.
The only hurdle was biting the bullet on a new charger. The batteries themselves are head and shoulders over the NiMH ones I had in before.
