Umarex HK416 Takedown?
Hi all, there doesn't seem to be any manuals or diagrams regarding pins and such, I managed to take out the upper receiver, barrel, rail, bolt release and mag release as it was pretty standard, but not quite sure where to go from there. Is it just the motor that just need to takeout and the gearbox should just slip out? Or is there anything else I need to yank out or loosen before I do so? I'm hesitant on using any force, so just consulting any existing Umarex/VFC HK416 owners out there first Also, the buffer tube ring, is it CW or CCW to loosen? I just need to get into the gearbox to swap a spring. Any help would be greatly appreciated, thanks! :}

It comes apart like any normal M4/V2 gearbox. The only tricky bit is the hold open catch.
So take the motor out, take the pistol grip off, knock out the captured pin at the rear and the drift pin over the trigger. Then remove the screw from the spring loaded part of the bolt catch and pull it off. It wiggles out from the rear first and you're in business. Re-assemble in reverse order. The bolt catch should be hooked back up once you get the mechbox back in the receiver and then he drift pin, motor/grip, push pin and mag release.

Wow, thanks for the quick reply Danke.
After removing the motor, I should just be able to pull the pistol grip off from the lower receiver? Or is there anything hold it down? |

There are phillips head screws holding the grip on, 2 probably.

Hrm, I can't seem to find the 2 phillips head screws you are referring to. Do they connect the pistol grip to the lower receiver?

Take off the motor plate, take out the motor. Memorize how the wires are routed. Look inside the pistol grip. Then connect the grip to the mechbox.

the Umarex HK416 is a VFC, so takedown is the same as a VFC M4.
