AK Selector Extension
http://ak-builder.com/index.php?disp...oduct_id=30213
Anyone installed this or something like it before? I have no idea in terms of compatibility between GHK AKM to RS so I don't think I'll try going to get Kreb Custom's custom selector, but something like that might work just as well. Do you think it'll be necessary to remove the selector for drilling, or can this be attempted with the selector still on the gun? |

I see very little compatibility issue, it's only a tab that is being fixed onto the exterior of the existing safety. The Krebs custom safety is another story.
Since it is being riveted, take the safety off the gun. Plus, you are going to have to drill into steel so there's a good chance once that last millimeter of steel is drilled away, you might end up forcing the bit into the receiver.

FYI if I were to do it on receiver I'd actually be drilling from behind, rotate the selector up past the receiver and drill outward....
It doesn't look like the GHK selector is installed the same way as the RS as I tried the online RS take down guide for AK and the selector is not budging, I think in the manual there is a E-clip behind it somewhere.... |

Yes but you end up with an uneven surface due the selector resting on the tabs, with the higher probability of the bit walking, or I guess you can put something underneath, not sure if you are doing it by hand or with a press tho. But it's infinitely easier with the safety off the gun.
Would this be the E-clip holding it in place? This is from one of those old GHKs.

That looks kinda similar....have you tried taking it off before?
I am pretty sure I can debur the hole well enough, I'll probably go with a handheld power drill if I were to do it on the gun(not going to bring the whole thing to work...lol), but if I can remove the selector then a drill press is much easier...I actually have more concern at that point with the rivets as I never use that kind of rivet before, sheetmetal rivet usually works differently than those... |

Take a look at WE AK selectors, they already come with all bells and wistles. Could be compatable...
