P90 oppinions wanted...

I'm gonna have to noob it up, and ask for people's oppinions on this weapon. I have been REALLY wanting to start playing airsoft for like, 2 years now, and now that I have a good job, I think I can finally afford to do this. I've been doing TONS of research, to get the airsofting out of my system.

Right now, my top choice for an AEG is the TM P90 TR. I've also considered the TM Steyr Aug, but I think its too bulky for my tastes. I'd just like some input on the P90 TR...experiences, pros, cons, etc. I've read reviews, but I'd like to hear from people on here.

Btw, just so you can know a little better if this will fit my style, I'll explain how I intend to play (I've paintballed a lot, so I know I can stick to my style...its not just in my head): thoughtful and precise, I MUCH prefer a calmly placed shot than simply spraying the general area of my target. I can keep my cool in pretty rough situations, so even when things get intense, I think I can still be calm and make placed shots. Accuracy is WAAAY more important than ROF for me. I know the P90 is kind of a hose, but it can be set to Semi. Besides, the option to go full auto would be nice...you know..just in case :P I've heard its pretty accurate, and I like the TR version because it has the scope rails rather than the red-dot. I'd probably put a little x4 on it. Also, I prefer smaller AEGs, rather than long rifles. And for some strange reason (dont ask why, I dont know), I really prefer bull-pups. It just makes more sense to me, so I just natually like them more. *shrugs*

ANYHOO, now that you're probably bored out of your mind, I'd love to hear some oppinions. Like I said, p90 experience, or maybe suggestions of other AEGs that might fit my style.

Thanks!

P90 is probably the best out of the box gun. It is a fine choice for your style, but its more of a sneak up splinter cell style and put 4 accurate shots in their back type gun. It's the ultimate for sneaking mainly because its like a box and you won't bang and hurt yourself on it. (taken from FN site)

Go with it, btu try and get a custom battery fo rmore amperage.

yeah, I was already thinking of the battery and maybe barrel... that sounds absolutely PERFECT for me...I'm REALLY stealthy when the situation allows it. haha, my favourite games are the splinter cell series and ghost recon series. nice that it specifically mentions that style, because thats pretty much exactly what I wanted.

Pain in the ass to try and find something to carry mags in. A "normal" vest isn't gonna cut it.

Finding replacement parts (esp. a new RDS if yours is shot out) is tougher than most guns. It took me over a year to find a replacement RDS.

Well, note that this is the TR version...the RDS doesnt even exist on this. Instead it has scope rails on the top of the reciever. I'm aware of the magazine size issue...its gonna sound silly, but I'm pretty good at sewing, so thats not really a big deal.

Obviously go for looks but along side of that , i have an aug and i love it.

It's not very long thanks to the bullpup design and would definately be a good one for someone who likes to take their time shooting.

THe p90 would be nice, but it is a small little gun and for some people it might be too small.

I'm about 5'11", 140lbs...I'm not a particularly big person. I know its a pretty small gun, but I dont think thats going to be something that bothers me. I like the compact style. I'm all about pure efficiency, so something so compact and smooth like that really appeals to me.

I really like the AUG as well, but I think since the field I'll be playing will be kind of a mix between urban and speedball, a smaller weapon would be better...

The aug is a very good gun and so is the p90 tr. The aug is around the length of an m4a1 and you get an m16 length barrel in such a small package. The p90 tr can have a longer inner barrel run through the silencer. I think the p90 tr would fit a m4a1 lengh barrel. It depends which one you like the looks of, if your looking for something really compact with descent range then get the p90 tr. If your looking for a mid sized gun with good range than get the aug. Keep in mind that if you are looking to use hicaps, the p90 would not be reccomended as the hicaps have a very bad reputation and even if you are good at sewing, you wont be able to carry as much mags for the p90 as you would for the aug as the mags are so big, you would have a hard time trying to find a place to put them.

yeah, I know...I've read about the Hi-Cap issues, but I like airsoft more than painballing largely because of the realism...
Translation: I wont be using hi cap...probably ever.

And about carrying them, because of my slower style of play, I dont expect to carry more than 1 or 2 extra mags. Like I said, I like placed shots, not auto-fire, so I dont think I'll run through ammo too fast. Example: when playing speedball paintballing, I usually take out at least 3 or 4 other players in a round, and usually survive the round, but I dont use more than 25 or 30 shots...and thats with a paintball gun.

if you like the small sized guns the G3 SAS is small. plus is you want to you can put a butt stock or retracting or what ever. my friend as one he loves it to death. he put a silencer, butt stock, the G3 claw mount and 4x40 scope. he almost turned it in to a mini sniper.

Oh god, what a hidious gun...the only gun in the G3 series I liked was the A3. Before someone recommends that I try a MP5, I think they are absoultely UGGO. I think its the scythe magazine. I hate the AK47 with a passion for the same reason. The MP5 SD5 is alright...but I absolutely HATE the idea of using any weapon, even one that is as small as a SMG, without bracing it on my shoulder. Those collapsable-stock SMGs make me wretch. *shrugs* I'm crazy that way, I guess.
