New info on the Full length WE AK!

Hi guys, so as I was browsing WE airsoft's website, I saw the new pics for the future full length AK WE's James announced! Now, I am a bit disappointed, as I hate rails on an AK and really HATE an AR stock on an AK. WTF?!
I'm definitely going for the Colt 609 instead!

Enjoy!

The Ultimak gas tube is nice, the railed handguard... I'd opt for a different one, personally. We'll have to see how easily real handguards can be installed (goes for wood, too). They included the mag well flange again, which I like (in yo face, purists!).

The AR stock makes be sad, however. Since they already have the side folder receivers for the AKS-74U, they should make a proper AKS-74 variant (they'd need a new gas block, front sight and flash hider too).

I'm curious to see how the pistol grips are installed on these and what they're compatible with.

Seeing the Crane stock on it, I also have to wonder if a more modern M4 variant can be expected (they already have an excellent RIS on the CQBR).

edit: also disappointing, since they were going for a modern "PMC" look they should have opted for one of the less primitive mag catches.

Well, I agree with both of you!

I'm not a fan of Modern AKs! (I know Drake, in my face!)

After their AK-74UN, which was already not your typical AKS-74U, I really didn't know what to expect from WE ! I mean, their market is more oriented to modern guns, rails, etc. (Apart from the M16A1 and the XM177 (which I already reserved to buy!))

But, as a WE fan, if I can change the parts for "Woody stuff that will eventually destroy forests" like a handguard and stock, I'm in, 'cause you know 'em huh, gotta love that good 'ole AK-47!

Personally, i like modern ak builds but only when done right. I can see this being a very good base for some awesome mag-K builds. Hopefully they'll come out with one w/ the ak104/105 front sight.
But for those of you who are more traditional, im sure that they'll come out with a wood variant or at least a kit for it. It'd be silly not to.

It's not that bad. I'm sure I recall threads of people trying to replicate, what WE just made, on their AEG's. Heck, an AK M4 adapter exist for the few who prefer the AR style stocks.

I'd rock one of these modern AK's but I would possibly throw on the magpul ctr stock.

At least, with the railed variant, I can finally put the xm203 on an AK. Hahaha

Is that an extended magwell, or is that just a guide so it's easier to insert a new mag?

Would the mag well change the mags at all? I really like the mags change on the current ak's and wouldn't like to have to do a m4 mag change action.

The magwell flange is only on one side of the receiver. It doesn't change the way the gun is reloaded much at all.

Marketing

I fully expect that a full suite of AKs will come out of the WE shop.

at a pace that will ensure maximum repeat purchases.

This one is the logical next step after the AK74-U

Ak lovers will hold their nose and buy it.

M4 lovers may stray to the dark side and buy it

These guys know their market and are doing a good job at releasing products that will maximize sales.

hell I will buy one.

By the way the WE AK magazine box has a image of an oldschool AK47 mag on it... how long till we see a classic AK47.. not long I'll wager

WE seems to release a new gun every four months or so. I think their next release will be something other then an AK, such as their Mp5 or P90. Then they will go back to AK's for a bit.
