G&g m4 cqb-s

Looking to get into the sport and wanting a decent rifle to start with so I was looking at the G&G M4 CQB-S or something in that lineup. Just wondering if anyone else has one out there and how they like it.
Also I've noticed every video review I've watched of these guns show that it has the blowback feature however every Canadian Retail site I've been on state that this model or any model in the G&G M4 CQB lineup does not have blowback. Not a huge deal but I just thought maybe there's a difference between the US / Canadian version.

I currently own a G&G M4 CQB-R Max and I am very happy with its performance. It shoots extremely accurately semi, and it shoots very well full auto. I have not had any real issues with it, except the stock and buffer tube is a bit chinsey. The stock on mine fell apart where the position selector is held on, the screw came off and I lost the selector. Also I had a problem once in a game where the buffer tube loosened up and swivelledand actually sheared the wires to the battery causing the battery to get very hot and smoke. Besides these two issues my gun has so far been pretty reliable. Mine does not have the Electric blowback version. I find that would only make more noise which would make you an easier target to spot.

I'm really happy with the two G&G rifles I've got, one of which has G&G's newer TOP-tech pneumatic blowback system.

As has been said elsewhere on this forum as well as by players/reviewers in the US and UK, G&G internals are highly compatible with aftermarket upgrades and replacement parts and hit the right balance of affordability and quality. Most of the internals are pretty good to begin with, the hop-up is decent, etc. You can upgrade the heck out of these things piece-by-piece as your wallet allows, or leave them stock for quite some time before any problems arise. I would buy G&G again after having tinkered with the internals and mix n' matched them with parts from my other guns.

As for the blowback feature on the M4s, the newest generation G&Gs seem to have the blowback feature while the non-blowback seem to often be actually a version or two behind revision-wise. Personally I don't care for the blowback feature as it complicates gearbox work and steals a bit of energy from the main spring. In addition, when you swap out your Canadian-legal spring for a game-legal spring (say, going from 430fps to 360fps), you may find that the blowback feature may have either been significantly reduced in liveliness or not do much. My MP5's TOP-tech blowback unit was pretty ferocious at 440fps, but when downgraded to game-legal velocity, it doesn't move as much (the noise is still pretty punchy though, which is great).

When comparing blowback vs. non-blowback gearboxes, you may want to focus on everything except the blowback, i.e. questions like "am I getting the 2011, 2010, or 2009 vintage of this gearbox?" which will probably count for a lot more difference than the blowback itself. In all likeliness, you will eventually swap out the special cylinder that provides pressure to the blowback unit, at which point that feature will cease to work.
