PKA optic attachments?

I picked up a mil-spec Soviet PK-A optic a while ago, and I've noticed that they eye side (well, the part you look through) looks threaded, as if something, some sort of lense maybe, is designed to screw in there.

You can sort of see it here: http://zenphotos.net/file/Online/SVD.../PKA-Irons.JPG

Does anyone know what, if anything, is designed to screw in there? Some sort of magnification device, maybe?

Id imagine its for the retainer to keep the glass in place.
Look down the tube with a light and see if there's anything screwed in there.

I don't think so. The threads, if that's what they are, end right at the lense.

I'm actually not 100% convinced it's threaded at all, but I can't see why else it would look like that.

Oh yeah? It's a shame; it would have been easy to thread it and make a few accessories. But then, this is the USSR we're talking about.

Hey, out of curiosity, where'd you get this, and how much did it cost? It clips on straight to the side mount rail right?

I got mine from another user on the classifieds, or else there's a list of retailers under the Russia and East block section.

Try this: http://www.kalinkaoptics.com/pk-a-mi...k-version.html

You should also probably know that it doesn't quite fit on the AKS-74U you need a full size AK.

Yup. For the same price, I could have added an underbarrel Kraken :P

By the way, how do you like the PK-A? I've always loved the look of it over the Kobra collimator. It's a shame about it not fitting AKSUs however.

Well, I wasn't too fond of it when I was trying to run it with an AKS-74U, but now I'm getting a full sized AK74 my mind will likely change. They do have a reputation for being one of the best options for optics on an AK.

The problem with the AKS74U is that the rear sight assembly gets is the way and prevents the optic from lining up properly.

Is it a Reddot only? Or does it have magnification?
