Face protection

I would like to get some face protection that doesn't hinder me when I want to look down my sigths... I've tried a mesh mask, the think is cool but I can't get my cheek to my stock because of it...

I've seen that full neoprene mask on ehobby... is that any good? the OD one is out of stock at the moment, I'd wait until its back in stock, but I guess it will flex easily to let you put your cheek on the gun? It wont be as protective as a metal mesh, but its better than nothing!

if its no good, you guys have any other suggestion? I don't want it to hinder movements at all...

Leave the mesh mask a bit loose and cant your head so you can push your cheek down with a bit more force. Or put a riser on the optic so you don't need as severe a cheek weld.

nah the mesh mask really doesn't work for me... it feels weird, and if I pus my check in more tightly, the left part goes up in front of my left eye, and the right rear part drives into my skin near the ear, its not comfortable a bit. As for the riser, there is already a little riser (about 1/4 inch I'd say) under my acog... but I don't want to raise it any higher, as I'm perfectly comfortable with the ergonimics as they are now, I've tried other guns with the acog on the carry handle, and I really don't like having it that high. Any lower and the mesh mask will be in the way...

So no, forget that mesh mask, while the idea is great, its really not suited for me... thats why I was thinking about the neoprene mask... its gonna be hot a little bit, but in the end it shouldn't be in the way, its just basically a second skin... should almost not change the ergonomics at all...

What gun do you have? What stock and sights are you using? Do you want full face protection for indoor or outdoor?

CQB M4 with an ACOG that I'm using both indoors and outdoors... althought we play outdoors 95% of the time.

I'll be using a L96 primarily from now on though.

but I'd really like to have some feedback from that neoprene mask if someone tried it...

Ever try i4's? Much more comfy than mesh masks, should be alright with the m4 as long as you use the avigo and don't have stock all the way in, and its fine for an l96 if you take off the cheek rest. If your just worried about teeth there are some pretty thin ones out there now. Your going to cook in the neoprene, if your really set on something like that I know theres some underarmour type material ones that offer just enough protection to protect your teeth at outdoor engagement ranges.

protecting your good looks is important to this guy! Thats why i belive my face sheild is perfect ! But thats just me ; )

Get a scope riser and stick with the mesh mask. Neoprene won't save your teeth. Don't forget you can bend and shape the mesh to your face, it'll make it a tighter fit than any p-ball mask out there.

I said the same thing, makes people look like a bird, but its comfy, great vision/view, and just feels like Im wearing goggles, but I still get full protection for my entire face and ears. Ive taken a lot(A LOT) of face shots, and I dont feel any pain at all. With neoprene/some sort of balaclava styled head gear you feel it all over your face and mouth, it makes breathing difficult, and its HOT.

When I just had clone goggles and no face protection I was very wary of getting too close in the action and loosing a tooth or getting a big sore. Last weekend I had guys sweeping the field and at one point had a guy circle aroung the bush I was hiding in, within about 10 ft, and the only thing I had on my mind was "I am a tree".

Id really suggesst trying It, the added security is my safety blanket, allowing me to play as serious and aggresive as I want.

Get a mouth guard if you don't like the steel mesh mask. I haven't had any problems with a cheek weld with a steel mesh mash but I guess you do.

Neoprene masks don't do very much in terms of actually doing anything to reduce face injuries.

I've had pretty good success with TM pro mask and AK series weapons.

Both of these will allow you to cheek your stock. The JT from Canadian tire is made specifically for airsoft and good deal at $40.

The MTEK is much better since it can support much more options if you already have a helmet. The MTEK offers a training version for airsoft. The face guard clips on and off in seconds.

If you like be in up front with the action, I feel more confident with the MTEK.
