Best sling for Ak47
I have a full metal AK, I'm wondering what would be the best sling for it. And what is the easiest way to wear the AK for maneuverability. AKs are beasts lol. Thanks in advance guys!
And I did search the forums, could not find anything relative, if it already exists, then just link it. Thanks! |

Single point slings. The sling loop at the back left of the receiver is good for it. Either that or make one out of rope or paracord. Doing that will allow it just to dangle, very nice.

Yeah that's what I was thinking. But it seems a little awkward cause the gun is heavy, I'm also getting a deagle, would it get in the way?

For an "issue" AK the only way to go is with the sling that was made for the weapon. IMHO single point "tacitical" slings are not ideal for an AK fullstock as the rifle is too long. Single point slings are good however for rifles with folding stocks such as the AKS and AK100 series rifles. If you have a tricked out "Tacticool" AK then you'll want a similarly "high speed" sling for it. For my work rifle (C7A2) I use this sling; http://www.511tactical.com/All-Produ...ded-Sling.html And I have no complaints, very comfortable, Dave's carries them in stock. |

With a two point sling you can't really switch sides to aim, can you? And to put the AK away, you just toss it around your back?

The fullstock AK was not really designed with the intent to be part of a "system of systems" for the modern soldier, it was intended to be the ONLY weapon carried by a conscript. If you are going to be transitioning to a sidearm then you are going to want to take the time to secure the rifle on your back with a good two point sling then draw your pistol. I have experienced the frustration of trying to draw a pistol then clear a room with an AK dangling between my legs on a single point sling...not fun and likely to get you hit. |

It really depends where you will be playing. Single point sling is king in CQB situations but out in the field you'll want a two point sling. Perhaps you'll need both.

So I practiced the transfer to secondary, I just draw the pistol after i drop the AK, I don't trust letting it slam on my back yet haha
