How Many Batteries for 24hr Games
I tried looking through he forum but couldn't find anything on the subject. How many AEG batteries do you carry with you during a 24hr game? Obviously thus depends on how much and what you shoot but I am curious on the general practice.
Thanks |

Thats entirely dependant on how you play.
There are people that conserve ammo, shoot one bb at a time and are very moderate with their ammo consumption. Generally these people can get away with a single battery. And i've seen it done. If you're gung ho and love to spray, carry as many as you feel you need. Can be one, two or even four. |

Depends on how heavy the fighting is. I tend to overplan, so:
- 1 for the gun in the field - 1 spare on person when the one in the gun fails - 1-2 back at basecamp, in the event I or others have battery issues A properly charged battery *should* run your gun for 24 hrs though, assuming you're not pulling a ridiculously strong spring. |

when running an AEG - ALWAYS carry an extra battery with you. You may not need it, but someone else might.
Better to have it and not need it, then need it and not have it.

I had a 9.6 1300 quit on me after 3 hours of moderate shooting... maybe about 1000-1500 rounds, it was fully charged. I got another battery, same voltage, longer mah (4000) and so far so good. I did a lot more shooting over the span of 14 hours and probably closer to 2000 and it is still going strong. I'm going to put it back in the gun this weekend for a game to see how much more it will do.
I have a feeling though, that I'll be rewiring everything to deans eventually to facilitate emergency battery swapping/lending. |

Let's see, some for the weapon light, that's a few, then some more for the peq box, a few more, then a spare for the NVG, then the tracer unit and spares, spare for the optic, spare for the one on the headband, how many was that?
Gas gun so no battery needed there at least.

in a previous post someone posted " 1bb per mah" so hence a 1600mah battery should put 1600bb down range, though this is second hand knowledge i'd hafta agree.
my understanding is there are 2 major things to think about. the larger the mah the longer the battery will last while shooting the larger the spring in your gun the quicker yuor battery will get drained. for instance a 9.6v 1600mah nimh may get 1800bbs on a 110 spring and perhaps only 1300bbs on a 140 spring. so if possible get as many mah in your gun as you can get

I always carry two large type 3300mah batteries, and a large type 1300mah battery though I've never needed the second one, let alone the third, even on over night games, except as a loaner.

At any game I will have anywhere from 4 to 8 LiFe or LiPo batteries for incidentals, loaners, it also depends what kind of weapon selection I have that day ie. if I'm running my heavy AEG LMG/SMG I will have three replacement on me just in case and anywhere from 4-6 replacements at safe zone for other purpose (team loaners etc.) if I'm running light 2-4 AEG/GBBR selection I'll cut the supply by half. If you are running milsim type of game 2 good batteries should last you

my 4000 mah battery crapped out at the very end of the day on sunday with probably on the shy side of 4000 rounds. I'm thinking maybe 3700 or so. Hard to say as I'm having feeding issues and have to use a couple different brands of BBs at the moment. |
