Doesn't even necessarily have to be capable of firing so long as it looks good. Just curious, because the shortest ones I've seen are standard M4-length. But if your M4 only has 10" of barrel to work with (or 8.5" worth of rail), what are some options?

None that look like m203s. The xm203 is the second shortest and it only just maintains the look of a grenade launcher while the shortest would probably be the mosquito molds launcher, which uses a hold in the back so you manually push the shells "boom button".

The XM203 long will fit on a 9.5" rail, done it myself.
