VFC SCAR Without Trades?
Hey guys, so I just got my VFC SCAR-L CQC in the mail today, and as I was admiring it, I looked at the upper receiver and I noticed something dreadful... NO trades. Here I had thought that all the VFC SCARs were supposed to have the full trademarks on them... anybody know what's the deal with that?

Have you checked VFC pictures online ? if they have the trades then I would be contacting the seller right away.

Well I have the tan VFC Scar-L CQC and I know for a fact that it has trades on the upper reciever.
From what I know they should all have trades. If it's not a VFC it think it should be fairly easy to tell. There are several companies that make Scars and I think they all have unique characteristics. |

I have already contacted the retailer and am waiting for a response. As you can see it's the gen III from the cheek rest. It also has the functioning bolt catch as it's supposed to. Another thing is it didn't come in one of those nice, hard cases, but that's not as big of a deal as missing trades. |

Looks very similar to mine (duh) but it's hard to tell. I don't remember mine having that "hump" in front of the bolt catch but that could just be my memory. Also, mine didn't come with a hard case either.

Well all the guns on their site have that hump so it must be your memory
And I discovered that since it is brought in from the US the trades were not put on due to copyright stuff, but it is indeed a VFC. Thanks for your input guys, and props to KNIVEZS for clarifying! |

I picked one up a couple months ago and they didn't have real trades, Cybergun is squatting on the Trademarks
But they DID have something. I heard second hand that there was a batch that didn't have trades because they new VFC ones weren't decided upon but they were still making guns. Here's my gun with the new "Trades" they are nice because they're individually serialized. This was taken less than 5 minutes ago.

The lack of trades and the orange flash hider lead me to suspect that gun was intended for the U.S. market. My two year old VFC SCAR-L has full FNH trades, and a serial number.

Yeah that was before Cybergun came in a squatted on the Trademark. This development is fairly recent in the past 6 to 8 months.
But all in all you have a VFC SCAR!! Which is awsome in its own right.

VFC lost the licensing from FN Herstal

Oh I am definitely satisfied that I have a VFC SCAR!
And yes Wedge, this gun was specifically for the US market. All in all, I'm ok with it, I just wish it would've at least had the trades like on Ozones, having it blank like that just doesn't seem right considering it's VFC... but I can live with it. I'm happy to have a 2011 model incase they've made little improvements to the gun itself. |

When did this happen because i got my VFC Scar H a week ago and it still has the real trademarks for FN Herstal?

The L's move a lot faster than the H's I'm guessing. Because of the proprietary mag. The L's take any TM compatable mag, even pmags if you lightly take a dremel tool to the magwell.

Well from what i remember there are still guns out there from old stock that still have fn trades on them. Maybe it was just for a short period of time and they worked a deal back out, so maybe you just got one while they were in talks to get the trades back on them
