Rs svd problems
I can't seem to post on the Doctors threads.
So here it goes. Got a brand new RS SVD charged up the battery installed and got two good shots, then jamming and then multi shots, then full auto shooting and now nothing at all it wont do anything it just died in my hands. I did notice that the mags were not pushing the bbs up but why all the issues with a new gun? Someone help me please! Last edited by jomor; June 5th, 2011 at 15:19.. |

Wow no one at all??
I broke the gun down, moved the cutoff lever and it worked again. I got two shots, then full auto and then it stopped again. Plus I don't think that the mags are feeding the bbs properly either. |

PM Deltastone on my team he has a Real Sword Dragunov SVD he could probably help you out as he's more familiar with it.

Sounds unusual for an SVD to be doing that.
Do you know what Gen SVD? Do you have the unjamming plate installed? Is it brand new? What type of battery are you using? A 9.6 or 11.1 lipo is recommended, anything below will cause issues. What kind of bb's? Hopup turned all the way off does it still jam?

I do have the gear cut off lever, and I assume its a 2nd vesrion model. I just got it from Cottoni. I was using .2 just to chrono it. That was disapointing too, mid 300s. The battery is a stick with 8 batterys all of which are marked 1400 1.2v. Boy this is making me sound like a complete rookie! The hop up is some where in the middle of the settings.
I dont understand the gear unjam lever that is there. Is there a way to get to it with out dissasemly? If so, I dont see where I could access it. I love the look and feel of this gun. However this has been really frustrating. What battery should I be using on the SVD? I will end up using .3s or .36 bbs. Should I buy a stronger spring? Tighbore barrel? Thanks |

I should state that dealing with Cottoni has been great. He is checking with a cun Doc he knows to help me out. I'm sure this is something I'm doing wrong and not the gun, but you never know!
At least now I know how to strip the gun and put it back in record time! |

Chrono with your hop-up off and test with the hop-up off.
I just glanced at the thread, but it sounds like you may be getting some bad BB jams |

I'm getting jams for sure. The mags don't seem to feed properly, almost like the springs arent strong enough?

2 Cent Tactical

If you want to troubleshoot that, disassemble the mags and stretch the springs out a bit.

Thats a good idea, I'm not overly comfortable opening up a mag. I guess I could sacrifice one in the name of getting this thing to work!
Thanks everyone for your help, please keep the help coming. Thanks |

Before you take apart the mag, put 2 drops of medium weight silicon oil down the tube and load it and unload it 3 times.

Yes do what Amos suggests. As well make sure you use very high quality BB's in the SVD.
As for upgrades, in previous versions the RS SVD shot well into the 420+ levels (At least my V1 did) so you really shouldn't have to upgrade it too much. Out of the box they are quite accurate, make sure the clean the barrel and use high quality .30 And to tell if you have a V2 you would have this piece installed: http://www.realsword.com.hk/produc_hj.htm |

You guys are great! Thanks for advice! I have the cut off lever so I know this is V2. I'm still not sure how that is supposed to help me. Anyone have suggestions on the battery I should be using?
I will give the mags a drop or two and see if that helps. I know It wont hurt! |

The mags are working better now thanks to the oil, thanks for that. However, the gun is still going to full auto then nothing.
Can some one recomend the battery I should be using? |
