new mag question (GBB)
hey all, i just bought a tm g18c, and noticed my bbs in the mag were getting dirty, and having a hard time feeding. i wiped the bb guide area with qtips to get rid of the gunk. but it still fails to feed sometimes. i thought it might be just the mag, but the 4 new mags i just bought all do it..
is there something i need to do to new mags, or something i can do to help this? is it a common issue. i tried searching but couldn't find anything. thanks |

Does it fail to feed every time, or just once in a while?
Is your magazine firmly locked in place? Are they TM mags? |

not every shot, bat at least 2 times per mag, sometimes more. esp. with the extended mags.
the mags are in place, they will shoot fine, then it happens. the bbs stop moving up and won't even make it to the feeding area. it will havven whether i'm shooting or cycling the slide. even if i manually unload each round. all are brand new mags. 3 are TM and 2 are AABB extended mags. |

what bbs are you using? Try a different brand.

I have the same issue with my tm g17 But only one mag is doing it. And it's brand new.
It seems I can wiggle the bbs around that are in the feed lips area of the mag.

Are you properly stacking the BB's in the mag?

Double stack mags, common reasons for feeding problems
CRAP BBS , Mag overloaded. if you have both these problems feeding will be an issue get some good bbs , and stop jamming so many bbs in the mag and you will find they feed fine.

clean the BB tack again.
- remove the follower and take a q-tip with a drop of the lightest silicon oil you have. - give the track a good wipe down. - repeat until the q-tip comes away clean. - then take a clean and dry q-tip and give the track a light wipe to absorb any excess. (but make sure there is still a very light coating of oil in there) - lastly, get Bastards! the have never failed me in any of my TM pistol mags! |

BB basterd bbs are so polished they almost make it impossible for them to jam.
Leave about 5 bbs worth of space minimum in the mags, a 100% full mag (real steal and airsoft alike) will jam 10x more often. |

it isn't the amount of bbs, it jams when its full, it jams half way through, and it james when its just about empty. so we can rule that out. i plan on getting bastards. the last time i bought bbs, it was these or nothing, so i didn't have a choice. like i said i can't remeber which brand they are, but i'm not a fan of them. they don't fly well either. |

so the bbs i have are Velocity Arms. which from what i've read are nown to do this, because they are undersized. i have a sample of bioval silica bbs (.27g). its all i have at the moment, so it will have to do.
i tried them, filled a extended mag, completely full, and if fed through without a problem. so bbs it is. if anyone else has this issue, try a different brand of bbs before racking your brain! thanks for everyone's help. i stilled cleaned and oiled all of my mags, but ruled this out first. |
