you can mount a scope on it for sure, but don't think you can remove the front sight. KJW m700 is not a good platform for sniper, most of the sniper here use a springer bolt action rifle as TM VSR, CA M24 and such.

Hi there!

As Wingmantank already posted, the KJW M700 is generally not recommended, especially for new players.

In fact, it is generally recommended that new players start with standard rifles or SMGs, and not sniper rifles.

If you are serious about airsoft sniping, look into a spring powered TM VSR-10 or CA-M24. However, both of those rifles will require serious upgrades to become real sniping options (~$1000)

If you are still interested in the KJW M700, check out this video review by a friend and local player.

I have a KW M700 and it's a good gun for sniping, but it's variable due to gas, so you have to pay attention to the temp to get any kind of consistancy out of it. (Which is why I mostly use my CA M24).

The front sight is removable, two small screws.

The reason this gun isn't recommended to new players is because it's generally a very hot gun. The gas flow is adjustable by taking the bolt apart and adjusting the striker spring tension, and you can get anywhere from 300fps to about 600fps on propane, but if you set for ~450fps on a day where the temp is 20C, and go to use it a couple weeks later on a day that is +30C, you'll maybe find it's now shooting 550fps. Or +10C and you'll see 350fps.

There aren't really any upgrades for this gun, but that's ok because the real performance comes from tweaking the parts and keeping the semi-tightbore barrel clean (every 20 shots give it a wipe with a dry patch).

And yes, you can mount a scope on it, just need Weaver style mounts.

I previously owned a KJW M700 and the front sight was removable. Aesthetically it felt fine, good weight, the stock felt great and was not made out of some poor quality plastic, magazines seated in perfectly with no issue and it was a pleasure to cock.

Performance wise I cannot say anything good about it. A new hopup rubber is require because the stock one doesnt perform all that well. CDN_Stalker already went over the details about its varying FPS so I will not reiterate.

I do not recommend it for a sniper role.

Again, even experienced snipers wont like using it. I've been in the sniper role for the last 5 years and wouldn't recommend it; CDN_Stalker most definitely has more experience than me, and he doesn't recommend it either.

So no, it's not good for a sniper role; the community here discourages having a sniper rifle (bolt action) as a starter weapon, much more to discourage use of a gas sniper rifle.

If you go with a sniper rifle, go with a TM VSR10 and work your way up from there. There's several for sale in the classifieds, pre-upgraded, which you can access if you're age verified. If not, then the clone sniper rifle that website carries is a decent clone, but clone's are prone to being lemons and breaking easier than a TM airsoft rifle.

Ya, I used it for Op: Sniper Hunt back in 2007 or whatever year it was, just gotta learn the tweaks and the rules of using it, mainly dry fire it at least 4x after filling with gas, because the first few shots will be super hot, need to settle it down to where it'll be stable for about 20 shots. For a new player, no, I wouldn't recommend, at least to be used on a field until you learn how to control it and have developed trust from the other players, this thing WILL draw blood if you don't know your minimum distances vs temp.

Example from memory of testing mine just after getting it, was in basement, was +34C outside, filled with propane and chronied first 0.20g, got 710fps, second was around 610fps, third was about 590fps and then it settled down to between 550-560fps. With duster, all results were close to 100fps lower.
