SRC M4A1(GEN III) Vs . ICS-41 M4A1

I went to my local airsoft dealer today and Ive came to the conclusion that I want to buy one of these two guns.

Which one would be a better choice?

The ICS one is 340 and the SRC one is 399.

Thanks,

-Matt

Both have good reviews. I would just like to know which one is better from knowledgeable veterans, as I am an amateur that does not know much.

Nor are you age verified. That alone won't get you much help with reference to which gun you should buy.

Eh, doesn't say anything in the rules about that.

I suggest paying a little extra and getting an SRC Gen III Pro.

SRC plastic guns aren't famous for their quality and ICS isn't famous for it's proprietary parts.

So go Pro.

the src plastic lowers are crap, they crack and fracture really easily, so get the proline or dont bother in my opinion

Are they both plastic? If so, don't get either. You can get ncie full metal guns for that price. (and those prices don't even include tax I'm sure)

The SRC M4 gen 3 pro is full metal, the normal SRC has the plastic lower reciever, and the ICS is full metal.

I got my sexy ICS Full Metal from Styrak, and love it :P

Only problem is a few things are proprietary *can be pretty expensive for some stuff*, here are some common ones:
- Stock (Modification can be made to fit others)
- Anti-reversal latch
- Pistol Grip (Modification can be made to fit others)
- Pinion Gear
- Gearbox Shell (Most people who like ICS like it because of a much easier gearbox to work with such as changing springs easily)

Other stuff recommended to upgrade:
- Piston + Piston Head
- Inner Barrel

These are easy fixes I guess...

You can always refer to the ICS Bible for more info...
*Takes like under 2 minutes to fully disassemble it too, although you could probably do the same with other ones *

Reviews on the SRC M4 Gen III Pro also seems to be pretty good, only set back is fake trades (some people care). You probably just have to downgrade the spring for your field limits when you get it...

ICS +1....

ICS is amazing to work on maintenance wise... 10 minutes to disassemble and reassemble the upper gearbox compared to an hours or so on none split gearbox design.

also... you get yourself an extra upper gearbox for used 50$ (or new 85$) and you can tune your AEG from indoor at 350fps to outdoors 395 fps in about 12 seconds...

No need for a second gun...

I'm with KAIU on the mod's.... get a prometheus 363mm 6,03... wow... what a diff..

Piston and Head.... bare in mind if you want to replace the piston and head on the M100 setup, you also have to replace the spring wich has a hook on some versions.... so I stuck with the original setup for the M100 (still waiting for it to dye) but put premium piston and head on the M120 setup

Now go get AV'd like the responsable airsofter you are... and next time we'll tell you how to blueprint the thing (ICS and get 15 to 20 free FPS)

Cheers

Hey guys, thanks for your responses! I will probably end up buying the pro ics m4 version which is this: http://www.airsoftqc.com/store/index...&productId=294

as opposed to the cheaper version which I thought of before: http://www.airsoftqc.com/store/index...d&productId=48

Now what is the main difference between these two apart from the tinted plastic to metal upgrade?

I'm not sure about the new plastic ones, but the old cansoft ones had a lot of problems because of plastic bushings, weaker motor... And plastic receiver is also more susceptible to breakage/cracking, although metal ones can still break too.

There may be other stuff, but metal vs plastic bodies... You can't go wrong by going with metal one at least.

If you get AV'd first, you will save ALOT more money though.... just saying it doesn't hurt to save $100+.
