ICS MX5 Pro

I've read the reviews and watched some video's. Currently debating on this for indoor games. Just curious if anyone in the community has one or has gamed with someone who has one and what they think of it. Looking for people's thoughts.

I want an MP5, just not sure what type to get yet.

The only thing that worries me is why do they have m120 spring in it and it only shoots 370-380 FPS....

That would be about right...

My CXP got about 360fps with the original 200mm barrel (6.08)

The MX5 Pro gets 370 to 380fps with a 230mm barrel (the turbo 3000 is rather noisy... but bullet proof... but trust me you'll love the sound the piston makes if it's the upgraded M120 kit)

((Precision wild not be outstanding... upgrade to a 6.03 prometheus will likely be you first mod... but it will bump up the FPS by about 17fps into the 387 -397fps range

Cheers...

keep us posted if you get it... I'm curious...

Great gun, buddy of mine has it, although the little screw that hold the selector lever on broke off in the threads, and if the selector lever is not securly attached to the body then for some reason it wont fire, so we are trying to find a replacement part. other then that good gun, oh but super small battery compartment, if u run a big battery u will be a battery box or bag.

cheers

Thought it was a pretty cool gun at first until I tried the fire selector. It felt really crappy and doesn't click very positively. Kind of a deal breaker for me.

I picked this up back in January. Haven't had a chance to game with it yet, as I bought it for indoor and according to the guy who chrono'd it for me it was in the 390 fps range. Currently waiting to get it back from a gun doc who is swapping the spring so it's in the 330-350 range and beefing up some internals.

Out of the box Plinking around the house the gun seemed to shoot well, and had a good feel to it. The battery is a pain in the ass the first few times, but it gets much easier after a few tries. I'm still going to put a PEQ on it though. I will agree that the selector switch is not the best, but for me personally it's something I can overlook.

Once I get it back, I'll be heading out to some indoor games.

Positives:
-Has 3 round burst, which means it has a FET, and I've been told it has a micro switch instead of a standard switch block (more on that later).
-Looks pretty sweet.
-Steel upper receiver similar to the CA B&T model.
-Can fully unload a tensioned spring with there patented release system.
Negatives:
-Micro switch...I see this going down the same road as the Ares micro switches went and if that's true expect to use low "C" values on lipo batteries as it won't handle high loads.
-It's ICS (not knocking them as a company, as I do like a lot of there products, but this may lead to problems finding aftermarket parts for it if upgrading is you're thing.)
-There is no real steel counterpart to this gun.
-ICS's terrible selector switch.
-ICS's crap-tacular air seal issues on compression components (hit and miss)
