vsr-10 'breaking it in' like a boot?
alright so, i just got a vsr-10, i like it ALOT. but i was just wondering if you have to 'break in' the gun like you would do for a boot for it to shoot more acuratly, speed is fine but iam having good little spreads of about 3 inch diameter at around 15 feet, but sometimes the bb just veers off crazy top left or bottom right. i still love the gun but i was just wondering if a gun had a 'break in' point.

What BB weight? A 3" group at 15ft is about what I'd expect from an AI grenade, not from an airsoft gun.

If it's a stock marui, it's shooting ~300fps, and you should use .25g BB's.
If it's a stock clone it could be shooting anywhere from 400-480fps, in which case you should either use .30g BB's, or get a weaker spring to bring it down to 400, and use .30g BBs lol Also, the best upgrade you can do in any airsoft gun is the hopup rubber. I recommend the firefly for VSR's, make sure you get the matching degree of hardness for your velocity. |

There is no "break in" period required with any airsoft. As a matter of fact, the more you use it, the more wear is endured by parts, especially in AEGs. The same is true with a BA, specifically the wearing of the hop up and bolt. However, you should clean the barrel on a BA on a very regular basis, more so (like at the end of every day) if you use it in a dusty or sandy area. Sand in the barrel can not only cause jamming issues with certain tight bore inner barrels, but can result in torn buckings, which will render a BA completely inaccurate (READ: useless).
