Problems with KJW P226

Hi,

After having bought a Skeleton Sidearms 226 and having insane amounts of trouble with that gun (and eventually sending it back) I got a KJW P226. Since I've got it, I've been having trouble with shooting. At first, it wouldn't get through a whole 25rd mag without a refill, but it would be able to get through most of it. Now, I'm shooting in my basement at a good temperature, and I can hardly get through 2 BBs on a whole fill. I'm using Propane with an Adaptor that I put silicone oil in. I'm wondering if this is a problem with my mags (I have the one that came with the gun and an old Skeleton Sidearms mag, both with the same problem), with the gun, or with the gas?

I really want to be able to shoot my $200+ gun without so many damn problems! Honestly it's really aggravating that after having to go through a long and troublesome process of returning my old gun, getting the problem diagnosed, asking for store credit and buying a new gun, that now when I finally have it, I'm still having problems with my apparently high-grade gun. If you guys could help me figure out the problem here, you'd be doing me a HUGE favor!

Thanks in advance,

-Sdens63

KJW wouldn't be what I call "high-grade". They are kind of prone to problems... i.e. the P226 is well-known to have problems with the valve knocker breaking.

So you get two shots off, then what? Does the remaining gas vent? Does it sound like the mag is out of gas? How long have you had your propane tank?

Hmm, yeah, could it be that your propane tank is empty? It won't sound empty when you shake it, but it'll be noticeably lighter than a full/new tank.

No, the tank is almost full. And the mag just empties after those two rounds, completely empty.

my 226 does the same. some of the mags i have will go through the whole mag without refilling and some won't. I guess it's just luck of the draw.

If that's the case, then heck I'm just going to return it for an AEG, because I'm not screwing around with a gun that works half the time.

Could be that the mag is cooling down, a leaky mag, or that you're getting an incomplete fill then.

Try warming up your mag in your arm pit or something after filling it.

I doubt it's leaking since you'd be able to hear it if it were leaking enough to leave you that much gas.

Are you fillling your mags with the propane tank vertically above your magazine? Just checking that you're getting the liquid propane into your mag, not just the gas.

Alright, I'll try that. Yeah the mag is pretty cold after I fill it, so that might be the problem. It's not leaking, the mag is fine. And, yeah i'm filling it vertically, I've tried with it slightly tilted, but that doesn't work either, so I'm keeping it vertical .
