Open bolt Vs Closed bolt

What is the difference? Is one better than the other? Because im looking for a barrel for my We Scar Gas blow back and all I can find it Open bolt barrels.
Is it open or closed bolt?

Thanks

currently the only open bolt rifle from WE is the PDW and G39. all the other rifles are closed bolt. Open bolt looks more realistic and the closed bolt has the brass tube that some people think it looks like a bullet.

Inner Barrel? The M4 inner barrels should work fine.

A barrel designed for the M4 only will not fit unless you modify it. The pin that holds it in the brass chamber is in a different location so you will need to cut another groove it the barrel in the right spot. Airsoft global has barrel with both slots in them.

RA-Tech sells precision inner barrels that specifically are designed for the we scar. But when I bought one, it did not work. Don't know why.

ive put WE M4 barrels into SCAR's. They were the RA-Tech ones and they have two notches so it will fit both.

Im not sure what version they were but they worked fine

I hear lots of small issues with the brass tube models, worst of which they don't perform as well as open bolt, and are most susceptible to cold weather.
As far as durability goes, the brass tube is a new design, few moving parts, things friction fit, etc.
The open bolt design is TWO parts. A block that holds the air nozzle. And an air nozzle from a GBB pistol. It's a design that's proven in hundreds of pistols, it's old tech, and therefore reliable.
Plus it looks way cooler than the brass tube design, and isnt that what GBBRs are all about?

Ive got the RA Tech NPAS kit for my WE M4. When the open bolt kit is released for the M4, will the NPAS kit still be compatiable?

Nope.

Open and closed NPAS are very different.
