Gun bluing Real Sword Type 56

Is it possible? The gun is all steel so i was thinking to do some custom weathering to make it look aged. I Remember seen a guy in AK post that did a amazing sanding off/re-bluing + rust effect that looked stunning.

Depends which gen you have. I was told the older type 56's come pre-blued. The newer ones can be blued easily with a bluing kit from any hunting store.

RS ak's are already blued.

The "amazing bluing" you've seen is people improperly bluing stuff with cold bluing chemicals.

But it does look damn good on an AK.

Play in the rain, let it rust overnight, then remove the rust with a fine steel wool.

In some pictures, you can see that lots of the older well kept type 56's are basically silver because all the finish has been worn off.

you can actually cold blue a realsword (I coldblued the originally orange flashhider that came with my Type 56-1) ; however, all other steel parts are already pre-blued in the latest version; so, I don't see the point of doing it; beside, coldbluing should only be used to refinish areas where the bluing as worn off.

I re-blued my Rs today and darn it looked nice! The "improper cold blue" really gave it an authentic beat up look! Thanks for the tips guys.
