What makes for an epic game?

I need some input, what aspects and objectives make for an epic/perfect game in your opinion?

Favorite games? What makes them so memorable?

Hostages.

Especially trading hostages for money with the opposing camp

- limited ammo (i.e. ammo cap per person, per sortie...something realistic like a max of 300/rifleman...1000-1500/support)

- real cap mag loads (i.e. 20 for M14, 30 for most assault rifles, whatever for pistols, etc...)

- higher FPS...450/500 brings on a whole new dynamic to game play...especially when combined with real cap/ammo limits

- simple objectives...might be hard to achieve, but just straightforward and uncomplicated

- no breaks, no lunch-time, no stops...eat/rehydrate on the move and let the guys figure themselves out

- good host and support group that has their act together and keeps the game play working for the players.

- no BS/drama that isn't resolved right there and then on the field immediately after a set or after the game.

People who are REALLY into the game.

Honestly it's they key to an epic game, and the one thing you can't really control.

When I hit the field and see guys properly geared, dressed and ready to lay it down, it's a whole different thing. You start hearing people shouting commands, looking around with energy and enthusiasm. Playing the part, getting into the role.

You get a group of folks like that and you can get stoked playing Nerf.

and strippers

To add a few more

- Like minded shooters
- simple and clear ROE no changing or complex shite that 90% of group wont understand (we are civies afterall imitating real army)
- Awesome weather condition (no rain, tornadoes, fucking hail from hell etc.)

in the end when a game gets talked about years after it has been played that's an EPIC game

Rain can bring an "OK" game to an "epic" game as long as the players aren't pussies (and that the guns keep going... so PTW's are a no go^^)

Yes I like that, I've only been to one real cap game but it didn't last very long. I still really wanna try another realcap game.

Also rain and snow I love, it adds to interesting elements to airsoft.

Wind not so much :/

- Solid shooters and good friends to shoot with and shoot at
- Simple ROE. Instructions should be easy enough for everyone to understand
- Ammo cap/limit / No in play field reloading unless at a designated location
- 40mm Grenades counting as 1 round!!!!

Here are my highlights
1-Location: Always good to have an interesting location that makes you think about where your going
2-Trucks: Various types of transport are always fun. That was one of the reasons I went to a Border Wars game
3-Caliber of players, no offense to the newer players or different style of players but if I'm going to be running around during a Milsim game it adds ALOT that everybody in on the same page with correct gear and uniforms. I'm not a big fan of turning the corner and seeing somebody dressed as a robot blasting away at me. But that's just me, each to there own
4-Ammo limits are great as long as they are enforced, spray and prayer is best saved for the paint ball fields
If you want a good example of a Cats Ass game check out this site www.oppineplains.com I've attend 3 out of the 4 games given and I need a day off after each one just to recover. Also any Border Wars game because the planners of that event pour there heart into it and it shows.
