Best GBB to mount a silencer on?

Lately I've been ditching almost all of my AEGs in favour of GBBs (pistols AND rifles), and I feel that my collection wouldn't be complete without a sexy suppressed pistol. I know that with certain pistol, such as 1911s, the cycling and accuracy can be negatively affected by extra weight on the barrel. So I was hoping the community would be able to suggest a few models of pistol that this wouldn't be an issue with. Ideally I'm looking for a compact pistol, not a full size, with available aftermarket threaded barrels. So I would prefer a 229 to a 226, or a G23/26 to a G17, etc. Any ideas?

You always seem to be the man I get silencer advice from! I really should have mentioned that I don't like USPs

I do like .45 though, so I'll keep this as an option, thanks!

I've never been big on them either, much more a Glock guy, then I bought my first MK23, fell in love with it, then I ended up getting Korv's full metal USP Tactical (had to fix his leaky mags, then test fire), such a solid and heavy gun, great kick, a blast to shoot, I couldn't put it down. Eventually I got a full metal MK23 and have used that since (my G19s, of the two, none work right and I can't figure out why, even among the parts of three different guns cheery picking.....)

Speaking of which, I got a G&G threaded outer barrel for my G19, never got it working right except with the stock plastic slide, and it made my G19 look odd....... and I was never able to get a suppressor for it.

Please let me know how that turns out for you. I'm seriously considering a two tone Glock with a silver madbull suppressor.

The problem with most airsoft GBB with suppressor is that the barrel can't tilt anymore with it on due to the weight. The same issue actually is present on RS as well, which is why RS suppressor for pistol has some kind of Neilson device that uses the expanded gas to operate a spring loaded weight that actually decouples itself from the barrel to allow the gun to cycle. Such thing obviously don't exist in airsoft.

There are ways around this though, since outer barrel is mainly an exterior feature and serves little purpose other than holding inner barrel in place, modification can be made such that the tilt is no longer required to unlock the slide. The same idea thats used by Illusion Kinetics/Airsoft Surgeon's tilt free outer barrel on Hi-Capa 1911, can be adopted(and probably already have) to make a threaded barrel on 1911/Hicapa platform. I am willing to venture a guess that the new Madbull/Socom Gear silencer/innerbarrel/outerbarrel set uses such an outer barrel to allow for function with such a long inner barrel that would require a long silencer to cover....

I had that same g&g metal threaded barrel for the ksc glock 19 took a whole lot of work, but it shot fine.

1911's are finiky but again, with a little work my silenced TM 1911 worked fine. (tk threaded barrel, now in mr.evo's collection)

The tm glock 26 can accept a silencer as well.

The list goes on, as far as looks goes....compact 1911 + silencer = seks

Anything non-blowback would be ideal, but the USP series is good too.
Ideally try to find something that doesn't have a tilting barrel....

Did I mention mine has raised sights to clear the can?

If I was in the hunt today I'd look up a KWA USP tactical.

If it doesn't have to be GBB then nothing will beat a TM MK23.

But you just said you don't like USP's. (I had a TM MK23, but I didn't like it because with a fabric holster it liked to auto-release it's mag)

The Madbul SOCOM (or MK23) suppressors work well on gun needing a "tilt". I used one on my former KSC USP, never let me down.

The other option is taking a KJW M9, that gun keeps its barrel straight at all time, I even tried a silencer for AEG, it did'nt care.
Most reliable gun I ever had.

I ahve a question to all you silenced gbb owners... does a silencer really works on a gbb? I know it has been asked lots of times for AEGs, but for GBB, I've heard and read mixed stuff about those...

Everyone seems to have a hard on for silenced USPs, either the tactical model or the Mk23. Is this purely because the barrel doesn't tilt? What other models of pistol share this characteristic? It definitely has to be a GBB, btw. I was playing with TNL's mk23 tonight, and as fun and lethally quiet as they are, I like the clackety clack of a GBB.
