WA G&P M4 GBBR screw problem

I am running a WA G&P M4 GBBR.

I have this little screw in my lower receiver (pictured below):



The circled screw is not letting me push the rear pin through the upper receivers hole because it is to high. What should I do to the screw? File it down?

The receiver is a G&P M4A1 metal upper and lower. No mixing.

Help would be much appreciated,

This may sound a -little obvious...

but do you have any play in the part which it screws into? Is the bottom of the head of the screw catching on anything? Is there anything in the bottom of the screw's hole or is any of the threads on the screw / bottom of the screw hole deformed?

You COULD file the top of the screw... but that's treating a symptom, and not the problem... ultimately, if the screw is not fully in and torqued... you risk damaging the gun/stripping the screw. So it's your call.

I have zero play. Everything is nice and solid...

I think it is a screw in the pistol grip area (I hope) that needs to be cut down a slight amount. Its only a little bit, but its enough for the rear pin hole not to align and thus not letting the rear pin pass though.

I will try to take some better/more detailed pictures.

I have no experience with WA gbbr (yet... ) but I do have some with screws...XD So IMO you should cut/file a part of the bottom of the screw until it fits properly, instead of filing the top....

Did you change any parts? Has it been like this as always or is it a new problem?

Maybe a washer on that screw where it threads into the grip would soak up enough of the extra threading.

Hey Milan,
sorry about the PM, I just realize I made a mistake.
On G&P receiver there's 2 screws from the bottom
One holds the pistol grip, cover by the grip the other one holds the selector block. The one you have sticking out is selector block. Based on three G&P/Prime rifles I'll tell you that there should be atleast one spacer place between the screw and lower. I recall it's two but couldn't remember exactly sorry.

OK. I think we are getting closer to the problem

This is the first time I have had this problem. I recently had to swap my bodies because my last one broke when installing a Magpul trigger guard.

I have actually never removed my pistol grip from my GBBR.
I have a Magpul MIAD. How do I remove the grip?

I see two screws. One large one in the center which looks like allen type screw and a medium sized X type screw. The medium screw is at an extreme angle. And both screws in there extremely tight...

the large allen type screw is the one that holds the grip on the body, the other one is for the selector block

The "allen type screw" is not like any allen screw I have seen before. Most times there is some depth so the correct allen key can "bite" into the hole and allow you a solid platform to tighten or loosen the screw.

This allen type screw has a very shallow bite and is rounded. It is hard to get at because the depth of the pistol grip and it is very tight right now.

How do I get this allen type screw out? I know it sounds like a quite simple thing to do, but its frustratingly difficult.

The other X screw is in there extremely tight aswell and at an odd/extreme angle.

Do I need to remove both of these screws before I can get to/adjust the main problem screw?

Go to C'T and get a 5/32 screw driver extender, thats what I use to unscrew my MIAD grip, if your gbbr was factory built then they might have put some lock-tight for both screws, but if it was just body piece that you put them together by yourself then I'll say you got a powerful grip =D anyway, you need to remove the grip to adjust the selector block thats for sure.

I managed to finally get the MIAD grip off. The allen screw was VERY tight...

But now I have a second problem
The screw pictured below will not budge either. It is almost stripped now:



How do I get this damn screw out?! I don't want to fully strip the screw-its close...

That looks like a job for an impact driver. Hard to say for sure without holding the part in my hands and guesstimating the collateral damage.

But stop, before you go further if you don't have all the tools to do this it's time to hand it off, the head of that screw has now reached the point where it's a lot easier to make things worse than better.

Who can I hand it off to? It looks like a real lower receiver to a M4...
