Important gearbox help - Identification please!

I bought this used gun a while back, the seller clearly marked it as a brand new shimmed and greased g&g gearbox.

After going to my gun doc and getting it open for the first time..he was very surprised. He said it did not look new to him, and he doesn't even know what that shit in the bottom picture is in the hole (is it even grease? it looks like something's that glues or rotten..) I need to know if this gearbox looks new to you guys. and know which brand it is. if it's really even g&g...

Please help, if it's not new and g&g, i'll have to look further into this problem. thank you.

there's a couple of pictures :

Looks like white lithium grease, which is fine to use in a mechbox.

You have a front- wired V2 with some weird shit on the front that I don't recognize. The cheap selector plate probably means it's a clone box. Jg, echo, d boys. Something like that.

The fuse holder and long wiring is identical to a JG mp5

Do you have any pics of it opened?

It could be a g&g but I wouldn't bet on it. Can't tell if it's new. Clone boxes can be pretty rough even new.

SB on the side is markings of a JG Gearbox.

That is 100% not a G&G gearbox shell.

a JG box is about 3 steps down from a G&G, where a G&P is about 10 steps up from a JG.

You were sold an inferior product claiming to be a superior product.

And no, that's not lithium grease, it's the weird Chinese grease.. that I commonly refer to as "Fish grease" because of its awful smell.

Thats up to you but thats 100% not a G&G mechbox. G&G have this retarded design where they put the screws to open it on the other side.

I agree. SB means it's a JG mechbox shell at least. The plastic that the selector plate is made of also makes me think the selector plate is JG. So if a bunch of parts are JG.....it's probably all JG or nearly all.

Not a bad mechbox, just not what you were told.

This mechbox is a JG mechbox, but it does look quite new.

If you where supposed to buy a G&G mechbox that came from one of the cansoft version, this JG mechbox is WAYS better.

Not the top, but if you paid anywhere under 80$ that is a decent price.

... What in the hell are you all on?

I would MUCH rather have a G&G mechbox than one of those piece of shit fragile plastic-filled JG Boxes....

Have you guys actually seen the inside of the G&G clear soft boxes? Change the piston head and you've got a decent gun.

Phew. I thought I was all by myself in thinking that the G&G is not half bad.

Theres your problem... AFAIK you dont ask for a refund/return 2 months after purchase.... and you game with it.... :S

It was your responsability to check that in he first few days upon receving the package.... :S

dont want to be a b****.... but AFAIK that applies here....

Yeah, if he "doesn't want to risk" opening the mechbox, he's not really a gundoctor...
