Outer barrel / slide.. customs issues?

Hey guys

Looking into getting a shooters design metal slide and outer barrel for my System 7 USP, from Redwolf airsoft or otherwise.. regardless of the vendor,
just wondering if this would create problems at the border..

Reason being is a real slide is a serial numbered part.. I would order JUST the metal outer barrel, but I don't know if that is possible (tactical threaded barrel)

Cheers!

No, slide and outter barrels arent prohibited.... customs will check it, that I can garanty it at almost 99%, but they wont confiscate it....

BTW check DENtrinity, they have alot of pistol custom parts, and for, usually, cheaper then the other retailers' price (ie Redwolf...)

Alright thanks..

The USP I have already has a metal slide, it is the plastic outer barrel I am worried about.
I don't care to put a suppressor or anything on it, but how is it reliability wise compared to it's metal counterpart? is it worth the trouble to buy one from DEN Trinity, or will the plastic be just as durable?

metal is almost always better than plastic

+1, Assuming it isnt cheap china pot metal. Metal outer barrels mean long term reliability and you wont really need to worry about it breaking out wearing down for a long while.

Not true at all.... KWA slide are CNC aluminum machined... so getting a new one would be wasting your money for the exact same slide... (do you really want to pay 100-200$ for the same slide + trademarks?...)

KWA/KWC decided to go with a stock Durable Nylon Fiber Plastic Outer barrel on there USP for reliability reasons!!!!

A metal outer barrel with a Metal slide, will wear the slide off, and eventually destroy it....

C'mon simple physic.... Metal on metal contact is not goo, and also... the hardest material will usually deform/destroy the softer one.... and in your case, the metal outer barrel (made usually out of steel) will destroy the slide (which is made out of Aluminum!)

My friend has a KWA USP, and I've shot it, and disassemble it... and its really reliable in its stock form....

Most of the made-for-KSC slide+barrel sets from SD or Creation are aluminum slide and barrel...I've never seen one wears enough to break.

If the plastic barrel lugs wears off from the aluminum slide, the gun will also stop working, no different from slide being worn off, so its a moot point....

Perhaps its worth my time looking at an SD slide and barrel combo.. its a shame as there is NOTHING wrong with the slide - just the outer barrel I guess, but there still seems to be mixed opinions on the durability

Cheers

You are not going to break the stock metal slide, at least unlikely...And you will be hardpressed to wear the outer barrel out(but it'll wear out), the only problem is you can't get just an outer barrel....

I really want to buy a KSC 1911, but that is a turn off for me enough....

Have you hit up the KWA shop in the City of Industry for parts?

KWA USA sells parts direct in North Amercia, pretty well any KWA part will fit it's KSC counterpart. They're located in the City of Industry in California and will talk to you by phone or email.
