Pro Win Magna Mags not filling

So I picked up two pro win magna GBBR Mags for my G&P Magna C8, and I noticed I was having a few issues in relation to "filling" the mags.

Symptoms
1) When filling with propane (Proper, upsidown method with regularly maintained and oiled propane adaptor), the magazine appears to gush out gas (the way a TM does with its double flow valves when its full). I find this weird, because the magazine was completely empty, and it does this immediately even with an empty mag.

2) The magazine DOES work, and some of the propane DOES go into the magazine, but I only get about 10 shots or so before the magazine is empty.

3) Prowins are supposed to be able to be loaded without having to pull the charging handle (ie cocking the striker back), but this does not appear to be the case with me, I have to still pull it back each time like any other G&P Mag.

Things to note :

1) I have pushed the reset lever down on the mags before filling, this doesnt appear to be the issue (unless im somehow too retarded to pull the lever down properly? :-? )

2) G&P Bomber mags worked PERFECTLY, Did not have any issues, got more than a mag worth of bb's out for each gas fill.

3) These are BRAND new pro wins, they are in mint condition and dont have any damage.

Would appreciate any input from people who have experience with pro win mags, this is happening with BOTH of the mags, which is why im beginning to think perhaps im not doing something right.

Have you tried pushing down the re-set valve, the little round circular wheel looking button near the top? You have to re-set those before filling with gas each time...

Also, I think everyone has to rack there charging handle once before you can insert any mag...

Yes, as mentioned above in my first post, I have already reset both mags.

Pro wins are supposed to be unique in the sense that you dont have to charge the gun before loading a mag. Thats why I got them.

Pro win mags have a little ledge on it that pushes the knocker back when inserting the mag, mine just doesnt appear to do it.

I think the charging before insert mag is a striker on the gun issue, not a mag issue.....WOC's striker sticks out further I think....I have to do that for all the mags I own(bomber, WA, G&P/WA, and ProWin....

not sure whats going on with your filling though...

taken from another ASC Thread, look up Kullwarrior's post

If you don't know, basically Pro-Win Magazine is claim to be solution of Western Arms Problems. How so you might ask?

Currently there are three systems:

Western Arms

GHK

KUI

All these ones have individual problems.

Western Arms: Price, holding high pressure gases, cool down effect, durability

GHK: fitting issue, maxinium volume of gas, durability

KUI: holding high pressure gases, rarity

Pro-Win claims to fix all the problem.

Basically according to their own data, Pro-Win:

has similiar capacity as Western Arms (WA is 55, PW is 50, GHK is 42, and KUI has <40)
can use Magpul Ranger plate (no other can)
has similiar gas output as WA (GHK is known for having less gas output resulting in less fps, 370 6.03mm innerbarrel @ 28 degree gives 480 for WA, and 455 for GHK)
has bigger volume of gas (apparently bigger than WA, alot bigger than the tiny GHK)
Does not need the hammer to be cocked to insert magazine (GHK, WA needs the airsoft rifle to be cocked first, except Ino '09 SV)
CNC design, unlike WA which is Die Cast
Drop able without damage, not sure how durable though

You need to take the mags apart, regrease the rubber gas flang and then reseat it. I recommend something with low viscosity such as bicycle grease.

Thanks guys, Ill take a look when i get home from work.

I am still semi convinced that Im loading these incorrectly, as both new mags are having this issue but, the only way to find out is to eliminate everything else.

Ok, I was showing paul the Pro win mags today when he dropped by, and for some dumbass reason, they fill perfectly fine now. *scratches head*.

Wtf? Like im glad its working but... wtf?!

Running theory between us is that the orings may have been dry and my attempted to use the mags over the weekend may have allowed more silicone oil to seep in and have a better seal.

Btw, I also saw a video of pro win mags used with CO2, the madbul adaptor in particular was used (i have one too). Im curious if I can actually use CO2 with my pro wins, and at what psi?

I cant remember why, but i remember carl told me once that theres a reason we use propane in our gbb's instead of co2 when he had his propane adaptor enter the market. This an issue? Has anyone actually run co2 in prowin mags?

Would be nice to only have to carry 1 gas source than hve to carry multiples everywhere.

Pro Win Magna Mags not filling

Propane is under less psi and goes into your mag as mostly liquid. It exerts less pressure and won't expand or vaporize until you use it.

CO2 at a similar psi will not work simply because it is in gas form and takes up more space/volume at the same psi. Filling to higher psi's will blow seals and valves near instantly. This is why we dint use co2 in gbb mags.

It's still early. I might have typed some of that slightly wrong but you get the gist.

Touche.

I wonder why Pro win used co2 in their video.
